Great beer in an old traditional pub-great welcome and service. Unfortunately food let it down a little bit. Tasty but small starters, the fish pie was (small) tasty -served with a disappointing small spoonful of salad and small piece of bread.

Delicious birthday meal last night for my husband. The scallops and shell-on prawns for starters, then red gurnard and smoked haddock pot for mains. All the food was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented, washed down with Proper Job beer and a good NZ Sauvignon. Excellent...More

I had the takeaway Fish Pie , it was delicious, piping hot when I collected it. Also had 4 pints of Proper Job in a carry out container. A perfect partner for the Fish Pie. Highly recommended.

Amazing home cooked food, good big portions and just super yummy. Not pretentious just home cooking at its best. We had been to Rick Steins the day before and thought this was far better and much more reasonably priced. We had the fish pie and...More

It was a dark stormy night and we were grateful for the warmth of this cosy pub on the quayside. The food was substantial. We tried catfish and gurnard for the first time and enjoyed both. The home-baked bread was wonderful! Puddings -old-fashioned and filling.
