Such a lovely intimate Italian restaurant - service and food were superb. We thoroughly enjoyed every part of our evening, the staff were very welcoming and the restaurant has a really modern feel with the swanky decor and bar.
The service was exceptional and there was a large selection of dishes on the menu, including the chefs recommendations and also daily specials.
I highly recommend the peeled prawns in garlic and olive oil, served with warm ciabatta starter 😍 Would happily have eaten this as a main! The pistachio profiteroles are also a must!
Everything we ate was exceptional and the staff were extremely friendly and took great care of us.
Very much looking forward to returning to Marcello’s restaurant - it really is quite unique and I doubt there is anything like it in the area!

We were looking for somewhere for a birthday dinner and as we love Italian food, that was a natural choice. After looking at several reviews of different places, we picked the Italian Diva, largely based on its website and menu. Made the mistake of not trying to book until a couple of days before, was good to have a fast response from Marcello the owner/Chef and he managed to squeeze us in later on the day before.
The restaurant is cosy with a nice atmosphere and happy and helpful staff after a starter of Caprese Salad for the specials we both had veal, Liz with a creamy mushroom sauce and I had the tomato and anchovy sauce, absolutely amazing, cooked to perfection and generous portions, our daughter had the cheese and spinach ravioli which she also said was delicious. Desserts were Tiramasu and Pistachio Profiteroles, again homemade and delicious, Lucinda was defeated by her ice gelato, but kept trying to finish it. It was the perfect meal, tasty and sufficient to feel as if you could eat it again, but you probably couldnt. I cant say enough good things about the quality and the service. If you are going to be in Poole and you love good food, you should be making a reservation.- if you live in Poole, you are very lucky!

Friendly, professional staff who are attentive but not overbearing, just right Nothing is too much trouble.
The food is out of this world, all fresh, quality ingredients cooked with the Italian passion and pride you would expect from a traditional Italian restaurant. So nice to be in a restaurant that is individual and not part of a chain.
We had the prawns and the anti pasti to start and 2 steaks for main. Beautifully cooked and full of flavour.
The pricing reflects the quality and to be honest, for the steaks I would pay more.
We will be back!

The restaurant was situated in a great location and was clean and welcoming.
Overall experience was let down by waiting for over 40mins for our food to come, then be told that they had run out of the tiger prawns. Not sure why it took them so long to notice they didn’t have any prawns left.
surley a restaurant of this nature has a chef who knows when he is running out of key ingredients that are on the menu
Although the waitress apologised that they had run out because of the BH (that’s not my fault, I’m not interested in what day it is, we just wanted a meal that is advertised)
When meals came they were presented well, but the linguine sauce was very watery and the chicken meal we ordered for the little one at £20+ was lacking much meat.
Children:
Don’t go if you have children, no menu for kids ao you are looking at £15+ for pasta!long to notice this
Overall very over priced food and wait times way too long.
Waitresses seemed nice and happy to try and help.
Won’t be going back in a hurry

We chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner because of the good reviews it received.
Welcome was warm and friendly and we were advised that we could choose any seat we wanted. Restaurants is not very big and had a mix of two and four settings.
Received our menus very quickly and the waitress took our order. Starters came out very quickly - antipasto and bread oils - both were very tasty, The mains followed pretty quickly after that - Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli and a chicken dish. Unfortunately the sauce that the ravioli was in was so salty and it totally overpowered the flavour of the ravioli even after I removed all the ravioli from the sauce. It wasn't just me, the vegetables on the chicken dish were just as salty. Really spoilt what was up to then a nice meal. The desserts were okay, not the best we had tasted.
From that point the evening went down hill fast. The restaurant was getting busy and the only waitress was struggling to keep up with the tables. There was a young man dressed in a track suit that came out periodically and cleared tables, not too sure who he was.
Two walk ins were turned away and one couple left without ordering. From the point that our dessert plates were cleared to finally being able to order coffees took thirty minutes which is totally unacceptable. I don't know how many waiting staff they normally have but one person for 8/9 tables is insufficient,.
Such a disappointing evening after the reviews promised so much, doubt we will be returning.

We ate at Italian Diva on the evening of 29th December and it really is an absolute gem of the quay. Not our first visit as we are lucky to live a five minute walk away but the service and food are outstanding. I’m a fan of their steak but last night went for the chicken parmigiana- equally as delicious.
My wife is a vegetarian and she also loves the food here with many options for non meat eaters.
There is also a unique personal touch to the service which keeps us returning time after time.
I would highly recommend Italian Diva - take that one minute walk off the main quay (the restaurant is just opposite the museum). You won’t be disappointed.

We visited Italian Diva on Saturday night and the service is second to none with great staff making sure you enjoy you to this restaurant. The food was amazing as it always is. The wine is also extremely good. To begin we shared slices of warm bread with real/genuine balsamic. Nothing quite like it. We followed with the shoulder of Lamb for our main course and it melted in our mouths. Finally we just to savor some of their wonderful Italian ice creams. What a wonderful Saturday night!
A huge thank you to Marcello and all xx

After more than 12 months of not visiting I can say this once again exceeded my expectations. Both me and my partner had starters, she loves the mozzarella and tomato and I had a lovely whitebait. Mains, partner had salmon ravioli which was superb and I had the scallop pasta which was great. Ordered dessert and another bottle of wine which made for an absolutely lovely evening as we don’t get child care very often combined with what has happened over the last 12 months. Woman taking orders was lovely, no pressure to order or hurry along adding to a lovely atmosphere. Been one of my top restaurants for years for special occasions and continues to be my top spot in Poole. Thank you Marcello, keep up the great work.

We took the chance to walk in and dine as we hadn’t made a booking. The waitress and her warm welcome explained to us that she is more then happy to squeeze us in (despite it being busy for her already) but due to the chef cooking and preparing everything from fresh and managing one table at a time, our food may have a little waiting time. No problem at all!!! The service yet again was impeccable! Passionate and knowledgeable input on dishes and wine to recommend.
The food was outstanding. The scallops and tiger prawns were so fresh and juicy and presented beautifully. We couldn’t let any go to waste so we cleaned our plates with the gorgeous side of warm ciabatta.
Even though we were told that there may be a wait, the food came out swiftly and served with a smile.
A truly beautiful restaurant! Thankyou for making us feel so welcome!

We booked Diva due to the reviews as we were visiting the area. We have no issues with the food, it was fabulous. The lady serving us was very attentive and friendly. Our issue was not receiving nearly £15 in change when we paid our bill. The bill was £86.40 and we handed over £100 in five £20 notes. With the change we would have left a tip of £7 or £8... After waiting over 15 minutes, it was obvious we weren't getting our change, and she'd assumed we weren't expecting any. Well it's not up to the waitress to decide that, it's our money and it was nearly £15..We were really embarrassed, wasn't quite sure how to address it and left the premises. Had we paid by card, the restaurant would have put through £86.40..By paying cash we paid a lot more than we should have. So in future, when customers pay cash, give them their change, unless directed otherwise. It spoilt our night.

Paid our first visit to Italian Diva on 27 April. Absolutely superb. I’ve given up writing these reviews but felt that I must share our find with others. The restaurant is small but perfectly fitted out to give a really nice feel and atmosphere. There are just a couple of staff waiting tables but they are welcoming, friendly and attentive to anything you require. The chef and owner Marcello, is on hand, visible and only to happy to come into the restaurant to check everything fine. The menu is extensive enough to ensure the quality ingredients are fresh and provide a great choice. We selected sea bass, and scallops which were cooked perfectly. Overall, faultless and superb! We will be back.

If you travel to Poole make sure you visit this restaurant, food is authentic, cooked by Marcelo who is an amazing chef with a great menu. The young lady front of house is a credit to the restaurant, always smiling, very polite and delivers excellent service. Desserts are excellent and we can highly recommend the tiramisu. Make sure you book in advance as to avoid disappointment.

This is a must go to restaurant!!!
Marcello (Owner/Chef) is passionate about the fresh produce and authentic Italian cuisine.
From the moment we arrived and was greeted by front of house young lady. I did not get her name but she was amazing and worked the room so well. Each table of customers was given genuine attentive service that set a wonderful feel for the restaurant.
Great variety of food with good tables, seating, lighting and Italian background music.
My wife and I both opted for seafood and had the scallops, Monk fish and Sea Bass with each dish melting in the mouth.
Its a pity that we was only passing through Poole, as we would definitely love to try the pasta and Veal.

A great little restaurant, excellent food, great service, lovely decor with a friendly, warm ambience - what more could you ask for. I have visited this restaurant a few times and never been disappointed and last night everything, was once again spot on.
For my money, this is the best Italian restaurant in Poole, it has a good menu with authentic dishes, food cooked to perfection, beautifully presented and served with a smile.
