Visited on a couple of mornings whilst on a recent family half term break. No complaints about the breakfasts which were pretty good value. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a decent pub although perhaps could do with a little TLC in places..

After visiting this branch of weatherspoons we thought it was quite nice. The upstairs is quiet with no kids and is a lovely place to have lunch. The food was lovely as usual being prepared and served pretty fast. Sadly our visit was hugely disrupted by a manger, Sandra I believe her name to be; being the manager of the... More

Typical british pub with a good choice of meals - fish and chips, steaks, burgers. Good prices. Served on 2 floors.

Went with 2 very old friends this week and found the bar staff very unhelpful. We all had steaks and I found mine to be very cheewy and lots of gristle, not very enjoyable.

Hi mfcfanBournemouth, I'm very sorry that you feel our bar staff were very unhelpful during your visit. We try hard to ensure brilliant customer service throughout and clearly, this didn't happen. Thank you for bringing the steak quality to our attention. We will bring it up with our suppliers to avoid this happening again. Hopefully we will be able to... More

This is an incredibly historic venue, right on the harbourside of Poole and it is in a terrific location and really amenable to other eateries; with a great view outward to Brownsea island. The venue is vast and the expansiveness of this Wetherspoon chain can accommodate a serious volume of people. It is obviously busy during sports matches, viewed by... More

Hello Steven, thank you very much for your comments. The upstairs bar is a good place to sit to avoid some noise and also children as it is for over 18s only. This is open until 8pm. We only have noise on our televisions during big sporting events such as the 6 nations. I am glad to hear however that... More

After spending a few hours walking round Poole High Street, we wanted somewhere reliable, cheap and quick to eat. The Quay operated by JD Wetherspoon hits the mark. Service is good, value for money is amazing and the food is of a good quality - especially when you consider the price. It's not our first visit and of course we'll... More

We were staying the weekend in Poole and came here a couple of times. They had Christmas decorations up and mulled cider so it felt really Christmassy..Upstairs the windows overlook the harbour ,even though the weather wasn't great ,the view was still good. The staff were really friendly.

I share breakfast with family and grandchildren from time to time at The QUAY. It's really family friendly and Sunday Morning Breakfasts with are a real treat. If you are an adult couple you can go upstairs where it's over 18's only. The views from the quayside tables are to die for. I've only talked about Breakfast but try them... More

Description
JD Wetherspoons The Quay is located on the bustling quayside overlooking Brownsea Island and the World's second largest natural harbour. During the summer months The Quay plays host to various events from classic cars and motorbike nights to pirate family fun days and fireworks nights! A little bit of History: The Quay was the name of the existing pub, taken over by Wetherspoon in March 2004, and has occupied this former warehouse since c1996. In Tudor times, the Quayside was called the Great Quay, even though it was less than 200 feet long! The Little Quay was added and further extended in the late 18th century. This was the New Quay, where this pub and warehouses and wharves were built.
