The chips here are great. I've been here a few times for a quick sit down lunch in my lunch break and they've always got good deals on for meals and it's normally quiet.

Really impressed, welcomed in, extensive menu, excellent quality fish, well cooked and selection of coatings. Saw the chef checking the food temperature before serving. Helpful and friendly service, I can say no more apart from "We will return"

Really fancied fish and chips for lunch whilst in Poole. We googled various fish and chip shops and Browns seemed to be the best. We stopped of for takeaway, the fish was cooked fresh. We shared a portion for one and it was more than enough for the both of us. Reasonably priced and would recommend.

I would recommend never visiting this restaurant around 8.30pm. Although the fish was cooked to order the chips must have been hanging around for some time which, surely, they must have known about. Everyone knows the saying "as cheap as chips" so why they couldn't have cooked some more or, at the very least, heated some up while the fish... More

As there were nine of our group attending it was important to choose a venue that could offer choices of how you prefer your fish cooked. The options were varied enough to please everyone. Steamed ,light batter ,standard batter, and breadcrumbs We were not disappointed ,the service was swift and the waitress friendly

We ate in the restaurant and we were hoping for much more. They do steamed fish which was great for my wife as she doesn't really like it battered. My cod was nice but the batter was soggy. My wife's skate was watery, I'm not sure the really knew how to cook it. The chips were poor. I can forgive... More

The first time we bought fish and chips from here, they were wonderful but then things seemed to slide a bit and the quality was poor. As such we stopped going. We recently went back and I am pleased to say things have improved immensely. Well done and we will be visiting again soon.

Brown's have at their other restaurant in XChurch made fabulous Home made fishcakes.. Opening here, my wife looked forward to savouring without the yomp to XChurch from Poole. Had 3 now and 2 were overcooked. I don't believe they know how to cook them at Alder Road. I ordered 1 standard chips, 1 Jumbo Sausage and 1 Homemade fishcake at... More
