Visited on firework night with some friends. The restaurant downstairs was very busy (understandable, as it was Guy Fawkes night and the quay was packed).
We were seated upstairs, which wasn't a problem at all. The restrooms are shared with the Drift Bar next door....Not something I would consider an issue, but every few minutes, the door is opening, making an unholy screech with people bustling past, disturbing your meal and a cool breeze from the other side of the room. It is also rather dark upstairs.
Very little ambience upstairs. One would expect some Italian music. Maybe they had forgotten - also understandable, seeing as it was so busy. Downstairs is a different story. Warm, music playing, a plethora of staff running about to make it a lovely evening for patrons.
The meal itself wasn't bad. There were quite a few issues with order mistakes and length of waiting time. One person was left without a meal on another table when a pizza was dropped on the floor by a waitress. It was quickly rectified, however.
To summarise, sit downstairs if at all possible! If I go back, I'll bring some WD-40 for that door upstairs!More
