A couple of real ales always makes my day. Add in the group of locals arriving, full of banter and stories, and a range of paraphanalia from Betty Boop through to 60 movie icons and it makes this place into a very nice locals pub.

We stopped here on the way back from Darlington for Sunday lunch. Very quirky pub decor. Sunday lunch was delicious, from the beef to the Yorkshire’s and veg. Extra proper gravy. Friendly, efficient staff, even though they were extremely busy.
