Absolutely nothing not to like about this place. Food is always spot on and the staff are so friendly and chatty. You’re made to feel welcome as soon as you step into the building. Me and my family eat here regularly, if not in the restaurant we often get takeaways too and we have yet to have a bad meal. There’s so much to choose from on the menu, there’s something for everyone. Not only is the food so good, it is also very reasonably priced and you’re not having to take out a bank loan to feed the family. Cannot recommend this place enough, and if you have not tried it yet you need too!

The food is always great, the staff are so lovely and will remember you even after the first visit. It’s a real local feel. I’ve been loads of times in the restaurant but had my first takeaway during lockdown and it was just as good. It’s not mega fancy or posh it’s just really nice food, fairly priced, great service and if you can’t find exactly what you want they will just knock you up a dish that will be perfect. I would highly recommend the chicken and spinach it’s not on the menu but one of the waiters said it was his fav dish and I’ve not looked back.
10/10 not had a bad meal in there and I’ve been more than 15 times in the last 18 months.

We love this place to visit but clearly we can’t do that right now. They’ve got the takeaway system cracked though, Rang up and was told it would be 30 minutes and it was available piping hot to pick up when I arrived. I tried the chilli chicken for a change and my fiancée went off menu with a mushroom bhuna. Starters, mains, rice and sides all excellent!

The world of eating out in the post lockdown world may have changed but the restaurant was well organised, with plenty of space and hand-sanatizer near the entrance. The staff were most welcoming and friendly, and you really can't beat a face-to-face, socially distanced chat with another person.
The service was excellent and prompt. The food was wonderful and really tasty. It was a pleasure to eat here>

Yet again the Royal spice produces a brilliant meal.
Visited again with our friend as well as our children this time. A friendly and warm welcome was offered on arrival by Ali and the team and we were seated to our waiting table. As always the restaurant was immaculately clean, which is in the current climate is always reassuring.
The service was well timed throughout the meal with staff being attentive and responsive. We ordered our usual starter combination which never disappoints (mixed started, mixed kebab and chicken tikka for the kids). Mains this time we had a favourite of ours, chicken tikka masala and special balti (new choice off the menu for us) with the kids and our friend having chicken kormas. Everything was delicious with so many wonderful flavours and beautifully presented. As always we accompanied this with peshwari naan breads (even one made without sultanas for our friend) and the usual beers!
All in all another brilliant meal with friendly staff, clean environment and wide range of choices.
Even going into stricter lockdown, if take away is available I would recommend sampling the wonderful food from The Royal Spice.

Often take away food is a poor relation to dining out in a restaurant.
Not here.
We ordered 2 main dishes, rice, chips & naan and picked it up in 25 mins. It was hot and as tasty as you could ever want. Royal Spice is time & time again the best in town.
The buffet here is also delicious and great value for money.

Been here a lot over the last few months and it’s definitely one of the best restaurants around. Amazing food and amazing staff. I just asked the owner about a type of dish I’ve had before at other places and he said that’s not on the menu but my chef will make it for you! Now that’s service! Amazing place highly recommend to anyone looking for a great Indian restaurant.

Visit this restaurant at least once a month and nothing ever changes always greeted by lovely friendly staff, service and food brilliant. Always willing to oblige if you want something slightly off the menu (which I usually do) Has to be the best Indian Restaurant in the area. Would recommend this place to anybody and will be back shortly

It's difficult to know where to start with this one. We have recently moved to the area and been told this is a great place. Since the COVID lockdown being relaxed we haven't tried to venture out anywhere, but what a place to go after 5 months only eating at home. From the moment you walk in the staff (Ali) was really friendly making you feel welcome straight away. The menu is vast and reasonable in terms of prices. The food arrives and your taken away again by how fresh all the food is and how flavoursome the food is. The mains were amazing too with a lovely flavours, good size portions and as fresh as the starters.
The whole experience from the welcome, service, drinks selection, price and most importantly the food was second to none.
If your after a Indian in the Wakefield area, you will struggle to find anything to match the Royal Spice

So had food from these guys before by takeaway and the food was great, Disappointingly not the same experience when we decided to eat at the restaurant, we arrived and found it to be quite, only two other tables in the restaurant.
We were seated pretty much straight away by our host, Drinks order was taken, Cobra and a dry white wine, again served pretty quickly, Our food order was taken and we enjoyed the drinks served.
Our starter was mixed sizzler along with paneer, it arrived and looked good. The starter couldn’t be complained about, it was pretty good.
Our mains were disappointing, the mains were - Malayan chicken and Chicken Tika served with chips and rice and a naan bread. Unfortunately the tikka was burnt and covered in garlic and far from a tikka I’ve experienced before, it was far too salty. Most likely to disguise the burnt chicken.
The naan bread we were served and was 70% burned on the top side, most of the food was left as it was need I left, our hosts seemed to be pre occupied in conversation with each other to be bother to do a table check, we were left an age to wait for our table to be cleared by this time we had lost the will and we couldn’t be bothered to hang round to complain.
Unfortunately we won’t be returning. 🙁

Always top standard the chefs will make anything you want staff are lovely and treat you like you’ve been coming for years. It’s just outside the centre of Wakefield and it’s been open years which goes to show how nice it is for an out of town place to keep going. Would recommend the royal mix

We regularly eat in the restaurant but it was a couple of years since we both grabbed a takeaway. We both ordered different dishes compared with when we dine there. Everything was great including the peshwari naan which I’ve had experience of not travelling well from other places before we moved to Wakefield. These guys are great and always massively friendly. Would not go anywhere else!

First visit to Royal spice, they are continuing the eat out to help out offer in Oct. Fabulous value we had 2 starters, 3 curries, 2 rices and naans with a few drinks for £39! All the food was delicious. My son thought the starters (Bahjis and tikka) were a bit spicy but we really enjoyed them. They did say level of spice could be changed in dishes which is great as my son likes food mild but loves a Bhuna. Would have like more vegetable options in curries but I would have ordered a bhuna which is the only vegetable choice.
Overall very good food, service and value.

Since moving to Wakefield in June 2020 and being told about 'the royal spcie' Indian we have been many times now. Each time we have been it has been on a different night and we have had different meals. Each time the meals, rice, starters and extras are very hot (heat wise) and have so much flavour. Those that we have ordered that have hot from a spice perspective have been spruce and flavoursome.
The staff, including Ali and his family are so polite and amendable, making the whole experience exactly what u want from a curry house.
Even if I didn't live 5 minutes ay from here is would still come for nights out and take aways. It's a brilliant place that I cannot praise enough.

Come to eat in with the guys often but had a take out tonight. Food was absolutely unreal, I rang them to adjust my order to how I have it when I eat in and it was no issue. Big Q is the man, customer service is absolutely on point, won't get curries from no where else.
Thank you guys!
