We are a family friendly pub, quick service ,fair prices and a chilled out atmosphere Classic pub food. We are currently the only place in Taunton that sells fosters so come and join us for a cold pint by the open fire.

Went here for a skittles night with work colleagues. We ordered a buffet, which was delicious! The sandwiches were proper thick bread and a good variety of meat and veggie. The staff were welcoming and the pub had a friendly and happy atmosphere. We had a great night and will definitely return.

Haven’t been in since before COVID. The revamp has made a noticeable improvement. Great cocktails, gins and beer. The landlords are friendly, helpful and interested.
Worth checking out, jukebox and pool table. Dogs welcome

Testing the Food Menu after having several amazing afternoons and meeting several colleagues after work for drinks … Entertainment available at the weekend and typical pub leagues during the week - Would highly recommend a visit - Football free Zone !!Kris and Claire extremely welcoming Chose to go for the 12 Oz Gammon Steak - Excellent English Pub Food Cannot fault anything Will leave you to rate the photos

Have just returned from a night out playing a great game of darts. Food was provided after the match. Initially it looked lovely it was fish bites, chips and peas. Couldn’t ask for a nicer after match noshup admit we’ve had worse!
But the chips were already salted. Two of my team were unable to eat as they have a dietary restriction of salt. I just don’t like added salt for personal taste. I asked politely if there were chips unsalted he replied no sorry. Having returned to my team to explain this we got into a discussion about how most eating establishments wouldn’t do this and allow the customer to make that option if they wanted to. Returning to explain about his cooking and that’s what he does I asked him if he was aware that some people are not allowed to have extra salt added to their meal (respect that some amount of salt is used in the cooking process) as it could effect their health his reply was no I didn’t know but it’s what I do. So I then asked does he display any information to the customer that they needed to be aware of anything extra that is added to the meal. He said no does that then mean I should tell you that there is butter on the peas!! I found him very rude and very defensive about his cooking. Basically we got it for nothing so what’s the issue was his attitude.
I’m not normally one for making an issue about things but I feel that others should know ( because we didn’t!) to ask before they order not to add any extra salt if they don’t want it!

Nice pub, ale is well kept and the staff are welcoming. I'm glad I found it as it's off the Main Street but well worth a visit. Prices are good as well.

My granddaughters wedding reception, it was really great , the buffet was ,good, a great selection and plenty of it . Great disco and the staff were really friendly. Garden was good with plenty of seats.

Took 15 people we support in the community for a skittles party today they all had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the food they had

We have just been for Sunday lunch, 3rd July 2022. We thought we'd booked by email but - BE AWARE - the email address on Tripadvisor is no longer valid.
Plus:
the barmaid found us a table in the corner of the pool room (they were very busy). The food, when it came, was well-cooked and very tasty. There was a choice of beef, pork or turkey. The vegetables - cabbage, carrots, peas and cauliflower cheese - were well cooked and hot. Apple, and cranberry, sauces were brought automatically, to suit our choices of meat. When I paid, I was told that, if we go again, we could ask for a child's meal (as we don't eat a lot now we're older).
Minus:
we were told we would have to wait for 20 minutes before we were served, and it was over half an hour. The floor in the bar was sticky. The meal arrived already plated. (It may be a personal choice, but we would rather have the meat and potatoes on the plate, with vegetables and gravy served separately.) There was only a choice of roasts - no alternative menu. We had read, somewhere, that the pub had had a £95,000 refurbishment. If so, the pool room had not even been redecorated! The barmaid had no assistance, though she coped very well with serving drinks and meals.
At the moment, they do not serve meals during the week, though they may try during the summer.

I’ve been for breakfast twice since lockdown and the service has been impressive, great value for money, great food and the owners/staff can’t do enough for you. We observed Covid cleaning and social distancing from the owners and other customers, it felt clean & safe :)

I booked the Princess Royal for a skittles night and a buffet. I have to say, we had so much fun and the buffet was excellent, everyone said it was nice and plenty to eat too. The staff is so friendly and nothing was too much trouble either and that in my book is a huge tick and always makes a difference for the whole experience.
I will definitely be making arrangements for the next reunion.
They had a band playing in the bar area... No idea who he was, but we could hear him in the skittle alley and he was very good too!

I've not been here before. Not sure what to expect .
The food was excellent. No frills just a good wholesome meal.Hot and good size portions. Everyone enjoyed their meal. All at a reasonable price too.
The staff were very friendly and efficient.
Clean and bright loos too. Just looked a bit tired and dark in the main area . Would go there again. 😁

We popped in here after the cricket. The staff and locals were welcoming and chatty. Good range of beers available.
We did not try any food.
It appeared to be very good value in comparison to other town centre pubs.
