Friend and I popped in for a drink late morning (pre 12.00). We thought we would support an independent establishment. The lady would not serve us a drink unless we had food. There was notification of this condition on the entrance door. My friend has a nut allergy and carries an Epipen so does not eat food when out. We... More

As Stamford locals we often have brunch in Town on a weekend morning. Pennies from Heaven is a cafe we've not tried before, so we decided to forego our regular places and give this one a try. Coffee was lukewarm and lacking flavour. Two of our poached eggs had broken, and shouldn't have been served. We ate the uninspiring plates... More

Beautiful light dishes and home baked selection on offer here in this quaint tearoom. My only complaint would be not a lot of space between the tables. But you can't fault the food or service here in a tucked away location.

We enjoyed tea and fruit scones at a reasonable price. The ice-cream is good too. Friendly and quick service; this is a café to which we will return.

Whilst the setting is quaint and cosy, the standard of food is just OK. The coffees were nice and the hot chocolates ok too. Nice for a stop in if you're in town and need a quick cuppa. Reasonably priced too.

Walking around the pretty town of Stamford we went in search of a tea shop and found it here. A really good pot of tea, very reasonably priced. A lovely place to stop off at and just slightly away from the crowds. Well worth a visit and fantastic value if on a budget.

A nice tea shop. We had afternoon tea and as usual I had to have a cake. It was fine. The owner came and chatted. Jolly good. Do drop in.

Had a lovely lunch here. A little off the beaten track so you could miss it. But it's worth seeking out.

We were looking for somewhere for lunch that wasn't part of a chain. There was a very warm welcome from the owner and a good choice of snacks at reasonable prices. All the tables had beautiful embroidered tablecloths on them and then sensibly topped with glass making it easy to clean. The toasted sandwiches were good and very filling, a... More

Blink and you will miss this little gem in one of the side streets. The range of food is not great but this is made up for by the quality of the service and the the value fir money. Liked having my tea served in a pot and china mug.

Thank Jim D
