Fantastic food and fantastic service. One of the best kept secrets in the area. Ideal for couples, families and small parties. Well worth a visit. Not over priced considering the quality and presentation of the food.

I visited with my elderly father I'd been on a weekend with the cycle races but my fathers first visit. We weren't disappointed. We chose jacket potatoes and the were ample in size and wonderful fillings. Finished with a good pot of tea. They were busy due to a party in the main room yet the service was spot on,... More

Celebrating my mother's 88th birthday four generations attended this restaurant for lunch. The menu offered a super choice and all were very pleased with their choices. The staff were lovely, friendly, attentive and seemed really interested in people and enjoying their job. Definitely worthy of a return visit.

Had lunch here for the first time, with family yesterday. The place is very busy, so you may need to wait for a table at times, but it's well worth it. Food is great, try the homemade soup with olive bread or the club sandwich. The portions are large and everything is freshly made. Highly recommended.

From going before, I had to visit this place on route again. I could not believe how busy it was at 11:30am!!! I thought I would be ok to get a early relaxing lunch before the mad rush. I was so wrong, every table was taken. I was about to leave when I was approached by the waitress who kindly... More

Good atmosphere in the small cafe. Old fashioned furniture adds to the ambience. Staff very friendly and efficient. Food was not so good. The scone was hard and very dry. We were not charged for the item. The bacon sandwich was served on medium sliced bread and though the bacon was fine, the bread too thick to make it a... More

We had just visited nearby Conisburgh Castle and were motoring around, looking for somewhere to eat and we spotted The Garden Room at about 1.30pm. We had to wait a few minutes as the place was full, but we timed it right :) . We were greeted and told that we would be found a table as soon as possible.... More

We have a Steak and Brie sandwich and a BLT one too with a portion of chips to share. This is fine dinning at lunch time which is right up my street. Also both the two young ladies... More
