Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our first visit to Hall Farm shop & restaurant and it will not be our last. Lovely meal one of the nicest we have enjoyed out for some time. The staff were excellent, you were made to feel welcome From the moment you arrived &...nothing was too much trouble. The farm shop is lovely and well worth a visit, good variety of goods and food. We will definitely call in again.More

We stopped of here for lunch with 3 adults, 2 dogs and a 18month old! We were lucky enough to visit on a sunny day so we sat outside. My little one was able to run around looking at the donkey and goats on the...grass throwing his ball! The food was wonderful we had 2 sausage sandwiches which came with chips and a steak sandwich which also came with chips. Lots of food!!! The staff were welcoming, friendly and we had great service. We didn’t have time for the farm trail but we will absolutely be back. Gutted we only found this little gem at the end of the summer! Also looked amazing for coffee and cake but we didn’t have time to sample this.More

Popped into Hall farm and on my way to visit my brother who lives just round the corner. We usually just go in the farm shop which is excellent but decided to have a cup of coffee as we were early. Were told we couldn’t...sit inside as it was fully booked, but could sit outside Got ourselves a table and noticed two or three of the tables waiting to be served. We waited 10 minutes and no one came to take an order from us or the other tables So we decided to leave we will always visit the farm shop but give the café a missMore

With a travelling up to the Suffolk coast or returning back down to Surrey, hall, farm café is the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat, and to recharge the batteries. It is always rammed full and the biggest problem about going to...the place, it’s trying to find somewhere to park on arrival. However, once in and settled at a table the staff are lovely and polite, very friendly and everything that we have ever eaten. There has been spot-on. My only issue with the place is that so many other people know about it!More

Used to be really good. However the food quality isn’t the same and it went from free for the farm to increasing and now £3.50. I know it’s not a lot but I used to go with the family then a wander round the farm...now it’s creeping up in price but the food and quality of the farm hasn’t increased. If they did entry at £2.50 that would be better.More

We found this place by accident on the map on our way to Woodbridge & thought we would try it for lunch. The staff were very welcoming & pleasant & the food was amazing! The fish finger sandwich was very delicious indeed! My husband had...the Chicken Burger & said that was very good too! As the food was soooo nice, we decided to go back for breakfast on way home on the Monday. The food was just as good! Would highly recommend and we will return if in the area again!More

Not suitable for young children ... will not return. Can't believe I'm actually writing this. We have visited Hall Farm Cafe and Farm Trail numerous times and always thoroughly enjoyed it, food has been nice, staff friendly and was a frequent place to meet up...with other mums for a morning or afternoon out with the kids. However today, after doing the Farm trail, my sister in law and myself decided to stop for lunch like we usually do and gave the kids some crisps & crackers as all under the age of 4 ( x2 18months & 1 3 year old) and would not eat a meal even a kids meal, we were rudely spoken to by a female staff who told us we cannot let our children eat their food in the cafe unless we are ordering food which we were but for us adults and we ordered the kids drinks but we were still told we HAD to order the kids food if they were to eat their crisps there. I very nearly walked out and looking back I wish I had, but we decided to buy the kids a bowl of chips to share in order for us to have our lunch and for them to eat something. After speaking to the manager I don't disagree with the business side of things but feel that as the cafe wasn't busy and the children are under the age of 4 this shouldn't be enforced. I have never had this experience there or anywhere else before and for this reason will not be returning again. I come here regularly with other mums and so I feel they have lost a valued customer for the sake of some crisps and crackers. They seem to want to encourage families for the farm trail but discourage families to use the cafe... its such a shame. I feel they need to review this to not lose custom especially in this climate. Even if this rule is in place for over 5 year old or something. But unacceptable to expect parents to pay for a meal for a 18month old who won't eat it. Not suitable for those with young children. Staff clearly don't have children and looking at previous reviews see that others have also had this problem and been made to feel unwelcome.More

Had been meaning to visit for quite some time. Has read the reviews and was really looking forward to breakfast. Unfortunately I was really disappointed :( Breakfast was really dry, cake was really dry too. Had to pop to the counter 4 times to ask...for another coffee, water, cake etc. So for a £50 breakfast, I was really disappointed.More

This place honestly doesn’t ever disappoint! Thought we would have to wait on a Sunday for a table, went straight in and were greeted (as always) by the lovely staff! Quickly got our orders taken and the meal that came out….WOW. Nowhere do you get...that portion size, for that price and with cauliflower cheese included in the price too! Gorgeous meal, even if the outside of the roast potatoes were a bit hard (not complaining as the insides were gorgeous and fluffy!!) will be returning 100% Love hall farm for breakfast but this has now made it even better!!!!More

We visited Hall Farm yesterday. 3 adults and 2 children. My grandson is milk and soya intolerant and the staff were so helpful to accommodate this. The food was lovely the staff were lovely. After our meal we wandered round the trail to see the...animals. We bought some animal food. There are donkeys, alpacas, cows, goats, pigs etc all set in such a lovely location. Very reasonably priced and we had such a lovely afternoon. Highly recommend.More

Came here yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Food was lovely. We were a party of 4, 1 toddler, 1 vegan, 1 coeliac and 1 normal. The staff were amazing and catered for us without any fuss. After we ate we wandered round the farm,...our grandson who is 20 months loved it, and at £3 per person we thought it was money well spent. We will definitely be back next time we visit our daughter.More

A lovely location overlooking the Dedham Vale where sheep, cows and alpacas were grazing,. The premises light, bright and welcoming. Our food and drink were well presented, well served and beautifully cooked. Excellent specials board. Very good value and a most enjoyable meal. The Vanilla...Brûlée with citrus biscuits was out of this world!. We will return. Be aware that the bill presented includes 10% service charge. It would have been even better value if I had noticed and not added another 10% tip. SueMore

Attended with my partner , seated quickly . Service was ok . Opted for cake and coffee . The cake was horrendous, dry and unremarkable. Hall farm use to be pretty good . The food and service can be pretty hit and miss . Hopefully,...the food on offer improves as there are more competitor cafes than before in the area to visit instead .More
