Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Saw the menu on Face book about their light lunch, very good choices of mains and puddings plus a cup of tea or coffee all for £9.50! We were served by 2 friendly members of staff Jen and Elaine. Just the right amount of food...leaving room for sherry trifle, very tasty! We will be back, thank youMore

We stayed in the hotel and after a tiring day of walking, decided to stay for dinner. We were not sorry. The food is simple but great and we are just amazed by the low prices. Staff is extremely helpful and nice.

We were there on curry night which is a normal option on the extensive home cooked menu. We had chicken tikka which was served with rice & 2 small naan breads, also a large dish of vegetables including creamed leeks and a bowl of chips....In addition we were offered a free drink with the curry! As we had spent the day walking Hadrian’s Wall we actually did eat most of it to our surprise! The man next to me had steak pie which he said was the best steak pie he had ever eaten, it did look amazing! All a bit 1970’s in style but in a good way. Friendly service and excellent value.More

Gorgeous Sunday lunch today.. roast lamb accompanied by roast & mashed potatoes, leeks in a white sauce topped with cheese, cabbage, mashed carrot & swede and a delicious gravy.... lots of meat and along with the vegetables all were cooked to perfection.. Sherry trifle to...follow.. which was tasty but I think they forgot to add the sherry 🤣 Can thoroughly recommend but would advise booking a table as can get busy.More
