Living local to this pub we though we would try the food side out again having a few issues over the last several months. Last time out we ordered the gourmet burger but it was no more than a slab of mince in the shape of a burger with no flavour whatsoever. Complained at time of eating and was told... More

We, that's 7 of us went to the Woolpack for lunch today, it was our daughters birthday. The table was ready for us and the hosts at the Woolpack were very relaxed. We were booked in at 1330 but probably did not order our starters & mains until 1430. All the food was great, not outstanding but great. My hot... More

Attended here for a quick date night, as we had off loaded the little one at grandparents for a few hours and thought we'd go here as we have had some previous lovely evenings here. We were sat next to a radiator, which was blasting and hot. As the meal went on, it became too much. We were given the... More

Visiting for a special occasion. The food is marvellous and reasonably priced. The staff are very accommodating, easily seating us with some friends we bumped into randomly there. We even had a visit from the chef to apologise that a sauce was unavailable but he would make something fresh for us. Overall, an excellent experience and one that Would repeat... More

We went soon after Christmas and I think the chef might have needed more chance to recover. The food was good, but did take a while to arrive (we were only a table of 12 and mainly burgers) That said, it was well presented and the (only) waitress was helpful and got things sorted for us. We'll still try it... More

Good service and good choice of dishes with daily dishes to mix it up a bit. The restaurant is away from the bar with intimate or family /party tables provided. Four dinners with starters and desserts with some drinks, was just over £100 for four.

After many of recommendations to visit the Woolpack Inn, a group of friends and I visited for a christmas get together at the beginning of December. We were a table of 20+ and had ordered for the christmas set menu. The set menu was 3 courses, there was a section between 3/4 per course which was nice to have a... More

Pub itself, warm, friendly and very well decorated for the season. Cask beer OK. Menu looked nice and I have to say the roasts were really nice, and plate filling. However 3 of us had liver and bacon, which was not hot enough and as one of dearest items on the menu, and liver probably being the cheapest meat I... More

The Woolpack does good value and well presented food. It doesn't try and offer an unrealistically large menu like many pubs, but what it does offer is good quality and perfectly cooked. The specials are always worth trying. The pub usually has 4 real ales on hand pump including two guest ales, which are well kept.
