Having been glutened twice recently in Didsbury plus two other near misses, one of which lasted for 9 weeks, I was delighted to discover this wonderful safe haven in Altrincham. This is the only eating place in Manchester where I feel safe to eat. The food is all GF, the cakes are delicious, the staff are very friendly and I can eat anything there or take food home without the usual anxiety ruining my experience. I hope this oasis will live forever and me with it! They deserve a medal.

As someone who is gluten and lactose intolerant, it was amazing to go to a lovely café where I didn't have to worry about getting ill from what I am eating. Amazing variety of gluten free food, cannot recommend this place enough! I even managed to get a cake from here - the first time I have had a birthday where I can eat a truly delicious gf and df cake. Thank you so much!

We have bought food from the deli before and been really happy with it so we decided to ask if they could make our wedding cake.
Hayley, the owner, is lovely and her attention to detail was fantastic. She listened to our dietary requirements carefully and ensured that not only was the cake aesthetically pleasing but so delicious too! We had so many compliments from our guests who couldn’t believe the cake was not made with dairy, refined sugar or gluten.
The layers were amazing and Hayley dropped the cake off on the day in advance of the ceremony. We loved the chocolate layer the best (although the jam sponge layers were yummy too!)
Needless to say, we ate all of the cake within a day and didn’t waste a crumb!
We would definitely recommend Off the Wheaten Track to friends and family and can’t wait to find an excuse to go back in and buy something else!
Thanks so much for all of your hard work (especially on the hot days that surrounded the wedding!)

I booked onto the deli’s first Supper Club this month and we absolutely loved it. I arrived earlier than my friend, and was immediately made to feel welcome by Hayley and David who had had a busy day in the hot kitchen getting ready for the Supper Club. They’d even sourced an air conditioning unit for the evening which everyone was incredibly grateful for on such a hot day!
Our asparagus starter was light and delicious. We both chose the cauliflower steaks with potatoes and veggies for our main course - it was really yummy and very filling. For dessert I had the vegan cake which was just delicious, and my friend had the soufflé which had risen beautifully and tasted divine. The evening was a huge success and at no point were we rushed through any of our courses.
I can’t wait to come back, especially after I’ve had my baby and I can have a few glasses of wine along with dinner! Haha! In the meantime I’ll be making more trips to the deli! Xxx

My partner and I went to the Supper Club last night and had a really lovely evening.
David and Hayley were excellent hosts and the food was superb - my partner can’t eat wheat so follows a gluten free diet and she really enjoyed not being “the odd one out” and having to ask lots of questions about ingredients and have limited options.
My favourite was the cherry pie, with the lovely chocolate sauce accompaniment!
My partner has been a regular visitor to the shop over the last year or so and we will definitely come back to the Supper Club!

I ordered a delivery of bakery goods from Off the Wheaten Track this week and was delighted with the quality of it all. The cake was delicious and easily the best cake I have eaten in a long long time. So lovely to escape from supermarket ‘free from’ offerings. The potato cakes were a find too….. been a long time since I’d eaten them after going gf a number of years ago. Delivery was free as a Manchester resident and Hayley was super responsive and kept me updated with when to expect goods etc. I feel like I’ve discovered a hidden gem & if you are tired of second class gf options get yourself down there. I know I’ll be back.

Wow what a lovely find..my friend and I had actually looked into eating somewhere else initially but there was a wait on tables.. so we just stumbled across this delightful place instead and we are glad we did! What a lovely place. Delicious homemade food and I have a bag of goodies to take home too including some great cheese and a homemade pie. I will definitely be coming back here and brining my family. The owners were so friendly and interesting to chat too and the whole place was spotlessly clean too and the food and cake was spot on. Good luck with this wonderful cafe and I hope to be back soon 😀😀

Freshly prepared tasty gluten free fare with so much to choose from. One of the few places where coeliacs are spoilt for choice. Even the coffee is great.
They offer pies that are cheaper than supermarket pies and incomparable for taste and value.

We had no idea as to the existence of this delightful spot until recently. We had superb food (all freshly cooked) in the most relaxed of surroundings. Scallops on cauliflower puree first followed by beautifully cooked chicken. Only 4 tables in a small but intimate dining area. Reasonably priced wine & beer to accompany. Such was the impression made that we have signed up for the next night of this type.
All present were left with the same view as us that this is a special place in which the owners (Hayley & David) work their 'socks off' but bring personal & charming service to the occasion.
Who knew?
There is a certain, selfish reluctance to publicise the place lest we can't get in on future occasions. They deserve the accolades that their hard work merits.

Have been following this place on Facebook for a while. We were in Altrincham today and we made a point of popping in on our way. To sit in a place that is taliored to my dietary requirement, meant that I wasn't looking at fab cakes thinking I can't have them, instead I was sitting here thinking what shouldn't I have. A great place, will be back. The service was a little slow when it came to our coffees but that was the only fault I could find

We only have an inky dinky coffee machine that is rather slow and my son was new to the machine, but our priority is that our products and choice are the main event, so we will take the feedback about the coffee on the chin and we’re so glad you were spoilt for choice. I was a little nervous about catering for a full hen do weekend - the hen is vegan and GF so I wanted to make sure we all ate the same. I’m so glad I found this place - Hayley suggested a full weekend menu for me to select from and everything was delicious…even to the meat eaters with no dietary requirements!
Their pies, garlic bread and desserts were especially delicious. We’ve since picked up a few bits for a first birthday party to cater for Ve/GF guests - the pasties we’re a real treat!

I have visited the shop previously and really enjoyed the range of delicious food on offer. My husband and I went to the supper club which was an absolutely gorgeous three course meal. The food was superb, the fizz, wine and beer was yummy and Hayley and Dave made us feel so welcome it was like visiting friends. As someone with a wheat intolerance it was so great not to have to consider any food allergens. I cannot recommend this establishment enough for people who are gluten free but also for anyone who enjoys excellent food. If I could give more than five stars I would!

We wanted a very special celebration for a small group of family and friends and asked if Hayley and Dave could cater for a private dining event. They could and it was magnificent. Fine dining at its very best. The meal was delicious, the friendly and personal service exceptional and there was a great ambience.

Attended the monthly Supper Club here with my Coeliac wife last night.
Apart from the joy of my wife not having to stress about the meal being truly gluten-free, the food and the service were second to none.
Lovely little bruschetta to start and then we both had the cod and peas followed by the venison: I had the raspberry posset and my wife had the chocolate tart: all beautifully cooked and presented and very, very tasty.
Whether you need gluten free meals or not, I can highly recommend the Supper Club experience.

This small family run cafe (wife is cook and husband is very welcoming and takes orders) is a must for any celiac/food allergy person. Everything on the menu is gluten free and made to order. We had bagels with various fillings followed by a giant Twix cake and lemon drizzle cake. Could not fault anything. Definitely return
