We came across this pub about a year ago, and we are so glad we did. The drinks are very reasonably priced, and they serve excellent cocktails.
We never thought we'd find good quality, authentic Indian food in WGC, but the food served here is amazing. Our favourites are the lamb kebabs, chilli mogo and okra fries.
Once we'd tasted the food (on several occasions), we actually decided to hold our 30th birthday here with about 75 people. The function room was the perfect size for this many people and had plenty of room to have more if we wanted. There was space for a DJ and dance floor too, although we opted not to have this as we wanted an intimate gathering. We opted for buffet style dining. The food was served hot and it was clearly not reheated and served fresh as the okra fries were crispy and the naan was soft (if reheated the fries would have been soggy and the naan, chewy). Several of our guests were surprised to find that the food was all in house as they said it was better than "London style catering". My parents and in laws were very impressed (they're super fussy when it comes to Indian food, being of Indian origin ourselves!). We were able to connect our phone and have our own music playlist, which was great. The room has it's own private entrance and can be accessed via the main pub as well. We had access to private toilets as well.
Would highly recommend for a function or even just for a yummy dinner! Safe to say we've found our local Indian.

Me and my wife came for some work surrounding of hatfield while travelling back home saw pear tree inn in middle and went to have quick dinner. I am allergic to gluten ,Nishith who had assisted me to choose my food without gluten ,they also have option of gluten free beer. Which had fulfilled my day . Thanks to chef for making n amazing dinner .

We hired the function room to have our daughters’ christening party. From start to finish Dee was super helpful, from sorting out seating plans to arranging food to cater for our 50+ guests. On the day the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was 10/10. Everyone complimented the chef and we’re very impressed with the food and service.
We will 100% be back again.

Pear tree inn is the best for having drinks. We have amazing bartenders who can offer us a cocktails shot and mixologist . I had never tasted a Indian food but I had tasted it first time it was so wonderful and mouth watering .

Great Indian food (both a mixture of street food and classics), great craft beer, friendly local pub environment with the football on.
The food is really full of flavour and not greasy. Prices are also decent. After we requested a authentic spicy curry they made us an off menu spicy lamb curry which was delicious… and very spicy!
Been here a few times and will definitely keep coming back.

I held my Sons 18th birthday party in the function room.
From first contact to the night of the party, the manager was great with all my enquiries.
On the night, the staff were great. Very friendly and helpful. The room looked great, even before we decorated.
They allowed me to return the following morning to collect decorations and even kept leftover food and the cake in their chiller. Saved the stress of trying to get it all home on the night.

Brilliant! We booked Pear Tree Inn for my brothers 50th birthday and Sagar and his team took care of about 15-20 of us.
Food and drinks spot on, very attentive and quick on the response and the whole family was taken care of.
Thank you again and I'll be back with business clients and friends in the near future.
The beer garden also deserves a mention 👌🏾

A bit noisy as dining is in the main pub but food made up for it. The flavours were amazing- had a variety of small plates, street food and mains. Chilli paneer and the chilli garlic mogo were the favourites.
The offer on the cocktails was the cherry on the top.

The quality of food is tremendous!! Compliments to the chef.
Well presented and I cannot wait to eat the food again.. This is now my favourite Indian restaurant and I am happy that I can have it delivered to my house too.

This place is evolving and improving with new owners and it feels like they are trying to get the place to its best potential.
I hope they keep their good standards and keep getting better.

Dined in once, had takeaway a few times. Not your standard Indian with neon red, overly sweetened "Tikka Masala" - instead you have a selection of interesting street food options that are quite rare to find in the area.
I've tried most items and not found a bad one yet - the curries are good, but the smaller plates are the real draw. Recommend the mogu and chilli chicken in particular, although be warned they pack a punch. Excellent flavours.
The restaurant itself is your standard pub, but service is good. Bit pricey but thoroughly recommend.

I eaten here a few times now because my friends said this is the best Asian restaurant in Welwyn Garden City. Ittakes a special place to impress my friend who is Asian, an excellent cook and vegan. This is a go to place.
The Team make you feel welcome, explain if you need help in what to order.
The food is just 'excellent' in the words of my Indian Friend.
If you cannot finish your meal you can take it home and enjoy it later.
Looking forward to my next visit

I booked an evening buffet for an event and it did not disappoint. All the guests thoroughly enjoyed the food, the Chilli Chicken was a firm favourite. Highly recommend if you enjoy authentic indian food.
Darshan and his team were friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back.

I have been visiting this pub for a few years now, it's changed a lot (for the better) over the last few months . The Indian food is about the best in the area, actually considerably better than most in Welwyn. Recommend you try a tandoori platter mix or for a quick authentic Indian snack, the pani puri or the Maharaja Pizza (sounds weird but trust me) are both awesome too...

This place is a must visit. We had a selection of small plates all of which were delicious and authentic.
The hardest decision was which dishes to choose so we will make our way through the menu on future visits!! Thank you to the waiting staff for being attentive and providing a first class service with a smile.
