The range of beer & cider was really good, & I was getting my hopes up but it just went down hill from there, I had scallops to start & was very disappointed to what arrived quite clearly shop... We ate here without a reservation, and managed to find just one table free, after eating I could see why this pub was so popular, excellent pub food with really friendly staff. Would eat here again if we are back in the area

Old thatched pub with low beams and old floors, lots of 'olde worlde' character. The fish and chips are good and the menu changes regularly during the seasons. Viaried choices for meat, fish and spicy foods at a reasonable price.

Went for a Sunday evening dinner. We didn't book but we're found a table with no issues even though it was busy. Food was amazing and the service quicker than anywhere I can remember.

I think the first time I have ever been served faster than the estimate given by the bar steward - 5 minutes rather than 10 which was remarkable in view of how busy it was. The Sunday carvery at £9.95 for adults and £7.95 for kids is really excellent.

We have been here a few times over the years. This time it was a family group of eight for Sunday lunch. Most of us took advantage of the great spread available in their Sunday lunch buffet - choice of beef, lamb and turkey with all the trimmings. Others chose the nut roast and a fish pie. All delicious, and,... More

£9.40 for two beers, Ouch! Down the road so much cheaper I admit the pub and grounds are very nice but the drinks and food are over priced Not coming again
