We were staying in Whitby, but just had to make the 20 mile drive down the coast to dine here. It's a great location overlooking the marina, and the food is excellent. I always have the chowder which is brimming with seafood, and my wife...particularly enjoys their BLT. There is a wide range of seafood that you can have there, Lobster, Crayfish, Oysters et al. My only disappointment this time around was that the staff were not that attentive, but then again they were busy.More
Me and a friend decided to go for lunch last week. The establishment is relatively small so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation to prevent disappointment as it was very busy. We ordered the Chowder and Fish & Chips. I have to say it was...absolutely delicious, not only was the food on point, it was clean, the staff were intuitive, helpful and friendly but to top it off is the location, it is just great. Giving you amazing views of the harbor 🙌🏻.More
Staff was so friendly and very helpful Clean As a seafood lover I would highly recommend the drive out to visit this restaurant I has the 3 tier platter for 2
We had lunch here this week, although it was busy a very cheerful waitress found us a table with lovely views , A vast menu makes it hard to choose from, but we were in the mood for Fish & Chips which were splendid. There...was also a good range of desserts and the ginger cake was just right. We shall certainly be back to try something more adventurous! however we do have to drop a star because tea should never be brought to the table in a mug with a tea bag floating in it. Apart from that great !More
Great food and a lot of it! And loved my pina colada... Will definitely be back again, maybe choose a smaller lunch lol.
I'd have never found this place, but a friend had been before and guided us up the steps. A lovely, cosy place. I wanted to try everything on the menu, but went for the seafood chowder. I can honestly say that it was the best...I've ever had! We also had the seafood platter (delicious), fish and chips, scampi, beef stew and a couple of kids meals. Tremendous.More
I am 47 years old and the sea food chowder is the best meal I've ever had in my life. Thank you. We will be back !
Great find, ate here both mornings we were in Scarborough. Food tasty and freshly cooked. Very welcoming and friendly and reasonable
Does the basics so well. Really good local ingredients served by friendly and helpful staff who don't mind if you're really, really fussy about how you take your tea or ask them to check on numerous allergies. Only downside is how popular it's becoming, but...it does open from 7:30, so you can go early to avoid the rush.More
Today for a treat I took my wife out for lunch at her favourite Scarborough Cafe. We both ordered and I saw mine ready sat on top of the serving counter under a heat lamp. There it remained for a further 10 minutes until my...wife’s meal was ready and we were both served together. My dinner had dried out due to the wait, it was very busy so I decided not to return the meal as the wait for a replacement would be too long. Whilst my wife fully enjoyed her lunch mine was spoilt due to it standing for so long prior to serving. I did point this out to the waitress who chose to ignore me.More
£31 for awful meal for 2 main courses. Soggy fish and chip shop chips served with a burger, same 'chip shop soggy' chips served with other meals. Absolutely no finesse whatsoever with presentation. Large 'splat' of mushy peas on the plate, cheap tasting ready made...tartare sauce. Tartare sauce is one of the easiest sauces to make, why serve ready made rubbish in a restaurant.More
My wife, myself, and our little cockapoo, decided to give this restaurant a try. We wanted something different to fish and chips on the harbour side. What a very nice eating experience we had. A lovely vibrant atmosphere, with some superb dishes on offer. We...could see what other people had ordered, and they all looked delicious. My wife chose a sandwich dish with extra chips, and I had a small chowder in a bread cob loaf. What a lovely flavour it was, a superb chowder, and you can eat the container. Best chowder ever. Also, of its good enough for Susan Calman it's good enough for me. It was delicious. Restaurant is up several sets of stairs, and may be a challenge for less able people. But if you can it's worth it! We just walked in, albeit there were a few reserved tables, so my advice would be; go early or reserve your table. Super place, we will be back!More
It was recommended to me and we went in for the chowder and it did not disappoint. I could have eaten bowls of it. The food was so good we went back 2 days later. If you are in Scarborough then it is not to...be missedMore
Absolutely fabulous café with great coffee and food. With a mix of people it truly is a fabulous place to visit. The lookout breakfast is big.
