Lovely food. Don’t leave it too late to order or you might feel a bit rushed. The girls who were waiting on tables were absolutely lovely - very friendly, helpful and polite - a credit to the employer!
Fantastic food, really friendly pub. Portion sizes are very generous and food is really tasty. Dog friendly too which is great. Would recommend booking as it's really popular.
A warm welcome on a rainy Saturday evening. We had booked as we know how busy the restaurant can be and true to form it was buzzing. The food was amazing and portions really wholesome - just wished we had enough space for desserts! Friendly...host and staff, dogs welcomed and they also have a ‘dog free part of the pub’ for those strange people who don’t enjoy the company of furry four legged friends.More
A very friendly and welcoming pub with a lovely roaring fire on a miserable day. The food tasted fine and hot but not the greatest quality or standard, bread rolls were dry, All in all friendly and lovely welcome with average food.
Great welcome from publican Paul, lovely atmosphere and very attentive staff. We dined there on three occasions and the food was excellent every time. The place is so popular it is advised to book in advance for dining. We spoke to several customers from various...parts of the country, who all agreed that it's a fantastic venue with superb food.More
We had sunday lunch on 29 October. We were a family of 15 with 8 adults and 7 children ranging from 16 yrs to 2 yrs old. The menu was excellent and the food even better! The staff could not have done more to look...after us. We booked a week before and the table was ready for us as we arrived and the food was presented well and extremely tasty. We will be back!More
A truly amazing traditional British pub with out-of-this-world food, all home cooked by the landlady Sally. The landlord and staff made us feel so welcome. A PERFECT evening in every way. Thank you 🙏🏻 👌🏻
Had heard a lot about this pub and having looked at the reviews was looking forward to eating there. What a disappointment. The food was average. The chips, which the menu assured us were ‘proper’ chips definitely were not. They were just like oven chips,...pale, not crisp, and thin. The desserts were not pleasant. The service was rushed and although we were only there for 80 minutes we felt we had outstayed our visit, despite the bill coming to well over £100. As we left there was an extremely rude customer shouting as we walked past. I wonder if it is a pub where only locals are welcome. I will never go here again.More
Hello GR247, we are all flabbergasted by your‘review’ , it is so vague ( no details of day/date food ordered etc) I thought about responding to your criticisms in full but have concluded this‘review’ is either fake or wrong venue, have a lovely day! Cheers...More
As my wife and I are going to Australia for Christmas, we decided to drive from Bingley, West Yorkshire to collect my aging parents, and take them for a nice lunch. Usually we would go to The Farrier in Cayton, where my parents live, but...decided on a change. I googled, and researched many nice places, but decided on Bryerstones Country Inn, near Cloughton, East Yorkshire. It looked old worldly from the outside, even better from the inside. The initial welcome great, the staff were extremely friendly, and it looked immaculately clean. We each had starter, main, and desert with a couple of drinks. Every meal, from each course arrived at the same time, it was hot and plentiful, and the taste was amazing. I was undecided on my main, rib of beef or leg of lamb, it was then suggested by our table waitress, have both, which I did, yum bloody yum. The entire experience was amazing, we will definitely go back, thank you to all staff involved in making our early Christmas meal very special. Kind regards Graham SummersMore
Excellent service and fantastic home cooked food. A lovely old fashioned pub with a brilliant atmosphere.
We are visiting from Scotland. We had a Sunday roast here yesterday. It was absolutely delicious - beef with all the trimmings all cooked perfectly. Two of us had puddings which were also delicious. The pub is in a lovely location and very comfortable inside....The staff made us feel very welcome. We hope to return when we are next in the area.More
Exellent homely cooking, proper landlord on hand, and lovely staff taking great care of you. Well worth every penny you spend and he keeps a decent pint. Best place in the area for old fashioned customer service. Thanks a million
I had the trio of sausages, mash and sweet tatties. Everything was really tasty, the gravy was a masterpiece, the sausages are amazing. This place is just lovely. Homely, cosy with such lovely service. Give it a try, you'll love it.
Warm welcome from the staff and Paul showed us around this wonderful Inn. Sunday dinners looked well presented and a must to eat here sometime. We have a Transporter and will stay in the car park.
