We have now been coming here virtually every Saturday for the past two years since being summarily ejected from The Anvil, Sawdon for having the temerity to criticise their menu's lack of variety. The service, reception and food has mostly bettered the rival hostelry though a lot depends on their Irish jewell Kate who holds the place together, remembering and... More

I must agree with the Leicester Actor. We arrived in the car park at 11.50 for Sunday lunch having travelled a couple of hours to get there. The proprietor was sitting outside & confirmed that the place was not open but we could leave the car there until opening time: no welcome or greeting whatsoever. We decided to go for... More

Let me start this review by saying we had an excellent meal served to us by a very friendly and efficient Irish Lady (we didn't catch her name) who went out of her way to make for a pleasant evening. The food was mouth watering and well presented, and the choice of menu excellent. What a difference to the attitude... More

we received a lovely welcome from the owner, she has very exacting standards attention to detail and cares about her customers experience. Although it is a pub, drinks are brought for you and orders are taken at the table. We shared two home made salmon fish cakes as a starter, with a side of home made dip in sauce, bistro leaves,... What a delight it was having our birthday celebration lunch here in Ebberston. Th Grapes staff were brilliant, albeit working v hard for a lunchtime but always polite and with a smile. The food was extremely tasty and well thought out but. Was also plated in an appetising way. I would particularly recommend the goats cheese brûlée starter and the... More

Exceptional food. Generous portions. I had a salmon, prawn and asperagus starter which was very fresh. Other starters we had were sea bass, plaice and crayfish fish cakes which they stated to be excellent. Slow cooked duck main with plum sauce, pak choi additional veg and chips. Truly delicious as was the blonds steak from an award winning local butcher... More

Impromptu lunch. Mackerel served pan fried with beetroot and potato salad and mixed seasonal veg. Totally sensational. Fantastic service, great beers/wines. Lovely location. Highly recommended.

The inside has a great feel and atmosphere to it and the greeting by the lady in charge was great. We were made to feel very welcome and shown to our table. There is a good selection of drinks, however to say they have Landlord on draught I would have liked to see the other Timothy Taylor's beers on offer.... More

A lovely meal and plenty of it. Only disappointment was as we wanted to leave neither waitress - previously very attentive -wanted to bring our bill. Even when I put my coat on.! Had to go to the bar to pay .Lovely decor and atmosphere, shame this put a damper on evening !
