I visited with my family. We shared mix starter and calamari were delicious, I had mixed grilled and my wife had chef special, we really enjoyed with it. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Visited this restaurant after reading lots of favourable reviews,but we found the food very average and restaurant setting just basic. From the outside,it was nothing special,interior was nice with the lamps ,carpet and pictures. Had starters of vine leaves and calamari which were very average...and a main meal of Chef's special ( vegetarian dish)which was basically a mixture of vegetables with a sauce. Found this dish rather expensive at £16.95 . Service initially was slightly brusque from the man server, gradually improved towards the end of our meal. Meal was accompanied with a bottle of dry white Prosecco which was drinkable. The desserts we chose,lemon Turkish cheesecake and creme caramel were tasty .More

A truly hidden gem. Amazing food, staff was brilliant the place is delightful. Will definitely visit again when in Scarborough. Can’t believe we have only just found this place, been coming to Scarborough for years.

This was our second visit this year to this restaurant whilst staying in a nearby guest house on a short break. We all thoroughly enjoyed our evening and very much recommend it if you are looking for an authentic and friendly Turkish restaurant. The food...was wonderful and there has to be a special mention to the chef and to the owner, both of whom took time out to have a chat with us. We had a lovely evening with good service and excellent food so much so that we returned after two days to make sure it was good - and it was!

Called in for a meal with my wife while visiting the area. The food was very good. I had a mixed grill and my wife had a lamb dish. The only slight criticism would be that they serve bulgar wheat with everything. I much prefer...proper rice but I suppose it’s a matter of personal taste. However, a choice would have been good. We have eaten in lots of Turkish restaurants and have always had Turkish flatbread included in our meal or as an optional extra. When I asked the waitress if any was available she didn’t seem to know what we meant and went to enquire but came back and said none had been baked. This wasn’t really a problem but did seem a bit unusual. I must mention one of the staff, Sandra, who was absolutely superb throughout our visit and couldn’t do enough. She went over and above to make sure we got a taxi and got back to our hotel in town safely.More

After having eaten at dozens of traditional Turkish restaurants over some twenty visits to Turkey I can honestly say that AZ is up there with the best ! The food and the service were excellent along with very friendly and polite staff. Had a chat...with the owner who was obviously hands on running a tight ship. We visit AZ regularly as we appreciate this lovely Turkish restaurant with authentic cuisine. The food and the service and the wine is excellent. What more can you say. Would highly recommend. Excellent value too.

My family and I ate here last night and were blown away by how good the food is.The atmosphere and service we found to be excellent with plenty of choice on the menu. The food looked and tasted amazing and we found the portion size...to be large also. My two daughters who sometimes are hard to please enjoyed everything placed in front of them and even managed a pudding. This truly is a gem of a restaurant which we definitely will be dining here again.More

Restaurant recommended and was not disappointed. Excellent variety on menu and cater for gluten free diets. All our starters and mains were great quality and presented beautifully. Lovely meal with good service. Excellent value for money.
