We went there on New Years Eve. Food was cooked wonderfully and the service was brilliant. we dined late in the evening and the staff could easily have been worn out but they were friendly efficient and made our evening very special.

Lovely food and excellent wine selection. My only slight downside was the Ox cheek. It wasn’t exceptionally tasty in fact the taste and the consistency was like slow cooked brisket. Nevertheless everything else was very nice and not madly expensive.

I had eaten here before but best part of 30 years ago. Have tried several times over the years when around Scarborough to get a table but never been successful. So it was with distant memories and hope that it was still wonderful that we...More

Location- Like a Victorian Tea Room, decor boring and all that hits you are the AA Awards when you walk in! (These awards are no longer even recognised within the restaurant trade.) Staff- Fawlty Towers feel to them. Rattling off the menu at speed, no...More

We love: the menu, the wine list, the people, the atmosphere. Regulars we are, often sadly not - we travel here for holidays and occasionally just to be able to eat at Lanterna - it's that good.

Family evening in Lanterna was something to look forward to. Classic traditional italian feel (by traditional, it is 70's/80s style british italian), but still i like it sometimes, and if you have winning concept, why change? Really nice waitresses welcomed us and showed us to...More

Again another excellent meal. Monkfish ravioli. Crab linguini. Lovely brill in tasty sauce. Italian cheeses with good wine. Since finding this place 19 years ago via a good food guide, we have returned time and again. Never disappointed.

Hi. It's not cheap. May £10 for a starter and £20-25 for a main but well worth it, if that's the kind of food you like. It probably came to £50 each including drinks and desserts.
