Fancied an ice cream and there are lots of kiosks to choose from along the front in Scarborough but this is a unique experience.... Go inside and sit at the counter, it's like an American diner...we had ice cream sundaes, banana splits, milkshakes they were delicious.... this cafe is exactly like it was in the 40's... It was very popular,... More

This is a lovely ice cream bar/American style diner. They offer a few choices of sandwiches and toasties for lunch but their main seller appears to be the ice cream and milkshakes. The staff were friendly and service quick all in their yellow costumes easily identifiable. We only went in to get an ice cream each which were all thoroughly... More

This place has cool vibe about it. Milkshakes, ice cream sundaes, floats, reminds me of the happy days bar. It's a very busy place and the staff are usually run of their feet, so patience is needed

A visit to Harbour Bar is fast becoming a family tradition for birthday celebrations. We went with our four young children and we all had our full of ice cream. A great visit and lovely location. We'll be back for the next birthday!!

Fantastic ice creams, especially the bubblegum twist. Great value for money. If it's miserable outside you can sit in side too so well worth a visit if your in Scarborough.

Visited the Harbour Bar whilst Looking for something to do on a cold, miserable day in February. I have to say it was very disappointing. I had a sundae but the ice cream was really quite tasteless, it could have been so much better. Also, the coffees weren't great and hot chocolate was bland. I left the hot chocolate and... More

Thank you for your review. We have never sold Latte's. We don't advertise Latte's. Lattes are espresso type coffee with hot milk. If you look around you won't find an espresso machine. We have only ever sold Nescafe with hot milk since 1960, that's 55 years and if as you comment,"we always come here for the first treat of the day", you should know that. Coffee with hot milk, if left for a short time, developes a skin. This confirms that it is made with fresh milk and is easily removed and I would imagine that if you make one a home, the same will happen. At £1-75, you would be hard pressed to find a latte at that price.I am not an expert on bread making, just it seems, on ice cream making and milk shakes. But on the basis , as you describe it, of a severely over proved bread bun you have PUBLICALLY condemed all the food we offer. Toasted sandwiches with home made coleslaw and salad, steak and sausage sandwiched all condemed.Doesn't seem to be a fair balanced review does it? But it is interesting to note that you critisize the price of £5-65 for a bacon and egg sandwich. Well I agree with you, that's why we ONLY CHARGE £4-50. so if you can't get the price right, how can anyone trust your review? In that price of £4-50 we have to pay 75p to the mafia in VAT. So at a NET cost to us £3-75, sitting at a counter, watching the cabaret of ice cream dishes made, and then perhaps a visit to our fantastically clean toilet, free, before you leave, what more can you expect? And don't forget, you can always speak to out Manager or our Supervisors, in the white uniforms, if your not happy. Giulian Alonzi v.g.i.c.m.m.
