Booked table for 6.30, couple of tables taken, but large family came in after us. Took while for them to take drink order & poppadoms, took order for food & basically ignored for 45mins, meanwhile many takeaway orders going out of restaurant. Eventually had to go up & ask where food was “it’s coming “ asked twice for complimentary drinks, eventually arrived & food soon after. Food good, but unfortunately they appeared to be concentrating on takeaway food. The large table also waited about an hour & they had several children, they left immediately after eating.

I organised a curry evening at Indigo Bay to say farewell to my work colleagues as I was leaving work after 20 years with the same organisation.
We were quite a large group (30 people) so this presented a bit of a challenge to the restaurant staff to get all the meals out at the same time, but the food was good and the staff attentive, friendly and helpful.
Paola, from Indigo Bay, helped me organise the evening and nothing was too much trouble for her in the weeks leading up to the event.
I would recommend this venue to others.

Delicious as always! We had a tilapia dish and ada murghi (chicken), first time trying these dishes and we all enjoyed them. Staff very friendly and covid aware, another customer was picking up their order and distances were kept at all times. We look forward being able to eat in the restaurant.

We used to go to Indigo Bay all the time for meals in and takeaways. We haven’t been for a while as we live closer to other curry houses now but thought we’d go back there. The meals themselves were average; we all said we had had better from there.
However, fast forward 24 hours and we’re all rather ill with d&v. We all had different meals and only shared a rice and saag aloo, which are fairly inoffensive dishes, so we can only assume that the hygiene is questionable.
Such a shame, we won’t be going back.

Had a takeaway from here a while back which was excellent so decided to go for a dine in. Shafi and the Indigo bay team surpassed our expectations we’ve had a lot of Indian food and this was right up there with the best. We like it hot and it was hot, we also ask for a special dish of chilli bhajis/pakoras theirs were fantastic. Keep up the good work and thank you for an excellent meal.

Food is lovely. However, waiting over an hour for the food to be delivered while watching a very large number of takeaways go out the door let’s you know that restaurant patrons are a secondary concern. Started asking when food would arrive after waiting half an hour. Told it would be just coming several times while still watching take-outs coming out of the kitchen. Feel it would have been quicker to order a takeaway and then pay the extra to eat it in!

Disgusting rude service.
Called to place a takeaway order after visiting the restaurant and being impressed by the food.
When I called I spoke to a lady who took my details, she then passed me on to a man who then said call back later il sort you out. I called back as needed to place the order at that point as was driving and then was left on hold for 10 mins and no one bothered to speak to me. I have now given up with this restaurant as clearly they don’t care about their customers. For a restaurant that is often empty on weeknights I’m surprised they can throw away custom.

Indigo Bay is no more - it is closed down and according to a sign in the window a new business is opening soon called Grill Valley (as at October 2020) . It's a shame because we did have some good meals in there but it had gone down a bit lately. Good luck to the new business

Our takeaway arrived fairly quickly, unfortunately both our dishes were extremely oily as you can see in the photo. Such a shame as we treated ourself as it’s a year countdown to our wedding. Will never order from there again. Awful

Well cooked food, speedy and attentive service. They had no draft beer on, assuming due to their recent reopening, but they had more than enough cobra in bottles.
The lamb in my bhuna was very tender and well cooked but I think the star was the saag aloo - I could have eaten a bucket of that stuff.

Saturday night, 8pm, two of us in here. Its a shame. I can only hope the majority of people were having a take out. This is a lovely little restaurant. The food is cooked to order, fresh and some dishes we have not had before. One of which we ordered, agra lalbahar. Chicken lamb prawn Spiced up in a sauce. Very nice
The staff are very pleasant and you want to give them business. All our food was great tasting and hot.
The Downside was, even being empty, the music played into the restaurant was only put on after us being there about 20 minutes and was through a phone, as suddenly stopped every time an order came in.
Definitely going back to support them. Enjoy

As a Curry lover I always try to visit an Indian restaurant when I am away from home and whilst in Newbury I found this one,
The venue itself is clean and quite modern and has a good and varied menu.
I requested a dish that was not on the menu and when it arrived it was superb and exactly what i ordered cooked to the correct strength. The only criticism, which is minor, is that there was a little too much Gee used.
The staff are very attentive and the service is good.
One for the places i will return to list.

Everytime we do a friends night out we choose Indigo Bay as our go to. The chicken Tikka is absolute PERFECTION, from the tenderness of the meat to the aromatics of the spices. It never fails to surprise me how much I crave it! Slowly working my way through the menu, but find myself going back to my favourites because I know they won’t let me down.
I would recommend over and over again!

First time in this Indian restaurant as we have tried some of the others. Nice friendly guy took the order and didn't take long in getting our drinks and poppadoms.
The food was a standard selection pack of main dishes and sides. I had the chicken tikka masala madras hot, and it was hot. Qe also tried one of the signature dishes quick qas lovely. Nice restaurant, really enjoyable though card machine didnt work at the end of the meal, so walked off my meal to lloyds for cash. And my son got a free beer , so how does that work!! Nevertheless would definitely come back. Enjoy

Really enjoyed the food at Indigo Bay. Jalfrezi packed with lots of heat, good sides etc.
The service was a bit up and down. Friendly waiters but bit of a wait for food (though was a Friday night). There was also multiple mix ups in drinks and food orders going to wrong tables etc. Quite funny but not ideal at the same time.
All in all I'd recommend but could do with a bit of tightening up in places.
