Only let down was a single item on the menu that did not appear, in our opinion, to coincide with what was served.
Other than for that the venue must be congratulated for the service, restaurant was absolutely full. Food was excellent.
I'm assuming the xmas rush might have had a knock on effect, but restaurants should be able to handle the extra custom without long delays in service and cold food.
It did taste nice, but being delivered luke warm definitely knocks the score down.
Visited with a group of 50 colleagues for our Christmas celebration. We were looked after extremely well and the food was amazing, especially with the number of people being catered for. Everything was delicious. I had lots of great feedback from everyone who attended.
Thought we would eat out for a last minute family meal. Recently just moved back to the area, after being away for a long period and decided what was new in the area for food. Driven past and always wanted to try the menu.
Stopped over with friends after travelling from Yorkshire to a dog show in Reading

Four of us went for a pre-theatre meal at about 6.00pm, having not been to The Hare and Hounds since the Barn was built. The barn has a really nice atmosphere, even though at that early time there were only about 4-5 tables occupied. I...More
The large dining room is really pretty. Good menu - I had fried tiger prawns as starters and the curry of the day. Both maybe not extraordinary, but certainly satisfying. I enjoyed the frequent and attentive service. One worth coming back to.
We visited at the weekend with friends for dinner. This was the first time we’d been for a while and since the refurbishment.
We had drinks in the bar and then were shown through to our table in the barn. They serve a selection of...More
Very poor service, much too cold and waitress had to be asked twice to turn the fire on and started to argue. We were not greeted on our arrival and had too wait too long for after dinner drinks and to get the bill and...More
