Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Friendly pub/restaurant with ale lager and cider on tap. The Doom Bar was well kept. To eat we had Buttermilk Chicken burger and I had a pie and mash. Both delicious and well priced. We stayed in our Campervan in carpark with permission. Thank you...Mark and team. We be back !More

We stopped over in our Motor home and had such a lovely welcome. We had a lovely walk along the beach and then got cosy by the log burner with our dog. The owners are so accommodating we will definitely return. Mark cooks all the...food and we enjoyed delicious Texan Burgers on the Saturday night with home cooked chunky chips and then a sumptuous Roast on the Sunday before we left. The Roast was really good with a braised Pork in cider gravy and Roast beef which was cooked perfectly.More

My husband and I were staying at the adjacent campsite and had booked a table about a month previously. They emailed me on the day to re-confirm my booking so I thought they seemed efficient. Wrong! We arrived on time and, after standing there being...jostled but ignored for ten minutes, we physically grabbed a waitress who was zooming by and forced her to seat us. We didn't let her go till she had taken our drinks order. When the drinks arrived we asked her to take our food order but she said "just a minute" and went off. Twenty minutes later we flagged her down and she reluctantly got out her order pad, by which time my choice of meal had "just run out". The food was good when it finally arrived 45 minutes later. We didn't have the stamina to go through all that again to get a pud, so my husband went to pay the bill. He was INVITED TO LEAVE A TIP !!! The following morning I got an automated email from manager/chef Mark Forman hoping I'd had "a great experience" and I gave him the above details. He replied, telling me about the tough condiions and staff shortages he was experiencing and invited us back so that he could make sure we were treated properly. We declined, but we would have accepted a refund! We felt unwelcome and disrespected.More

There was obviously some issues with staffing/kitchen as we had to wait a while for our dinner to be served, but it was worth it. The food was excellent and well presented. The price was reasonable. The restaurant itself was busy, it was clean and...it had a good atmosphere, both in the clientele and the layout/decor. The staff were very busy but still had time to be polite and helpful. Would recommend a visit.More

Nice pub with a decent menu and beers. Friendly staff too. It gets busy so book ahead. Menu is quite broad, so plenty of options for everyone.

Absolutely amazing, home-cooked food at reasonable prices. The best chunky chips I’ve had anywhere! Wouldn’t hesitate to visit when in the area in future or recommend to others.
