We found this wonderful place using Google maps whilst staying at a nearby hotel for the weekend- what a find! I rang ahead to check there was a table available and it was on the ground floor as my elderly mum was with us. We...were seated within 10 minutes of making the call on a lovely table. The restaurant was already pleasantly busy which was a good sign. The food was absolutely delicious- we could not fault it. We started the pickle tray, then had various starters. Our main courses were fabulous, my chicken Dansak (my all time favourite) was the best I had had in years, and sundries were fabulous too. Attentive service too- cannot recommend highly enough.More

Visited the restaurant during a work trip as saw good ratings on TripAdvisor. Went early evening so was quiet when I arrived but when I left it was much busier & also heard delivery orders being taken, so a decent sign of quality. Only had...a main & went for the tandoori chicken naga as I hadn’t tried that before; also had rice & a garlic naan. The menu stated that the option was very hot (the same as vindaloo) and I do like a spicy curry but not one that makes you sweat & not possible to eat. The curry was a very nice consistency, the tandoori chicken was well cooked and the heat does not hit straight away but is delayed which I appreciated. Excellent meal that I totally finished off and that is rare for me. If you like a spicy curry, I highly recommend visiting the JayRaj and trying the Naga.More

I have been looking for decent Indian food in Bedfordshire and around. While i was in Luton looked up for best ratings and visited for a takeaway. Very disappointed with the tasteless chicken Biriyani and other stuff. I have get home to spice it up...and add salt to even make it palatable. Absolute waste of £60 for 3 dishes.More

I always used Jay Raj as it was exceptional, so I was surprise when I ordered a dish a found it was swimming in juicy and hardly any meat. The naan’s were small and miserable looking. In my opinion they are trading on past glory,...the food is over priced and to a sub standard level. Save your money and go elsewhere, on a plus point the staff are always courteous.More

So we decided to try the Jay Raj again. Here was our experience. Firstly the 2 positives. 1. The customer service was excellent. Very good english, lots of laughing and joking with the waiters. 2. The food was very very nice. Well cooked, hot and...amazing taste Sadly there is a negative 1. The cost. It is a very VERY expensive place. £4.20 just for a standard diet coke. If you can stomach the cost then you must go to this place it is excellent. If you cant then I recommend other places which are just as good and a lot cheaper. If you live in Luton, you will know that the Jay Raj sponsor many roundabouts in the town. This is the reason why, they can afford to with the cost of their food. I would go back again though, but I would need to save up first.More

Number 1 Curry house in Luton! The staff are so friendly and courteous, the variety of choice and the quality in taste of the dishes is outstanding, the portion size is very generous, and the service speed is also superb! This is without doubt the...best curry you will experience, so lucky to live locally 😁 Keep up the Great work Jay Raj! 10/10 💯% CertifiedMore

I had a Ceylon and pilau with a keema. Totally faultless. Perfect actually. Tikka was lovely, rice was good, sauce was as it should be for a Ceylon. I ordered to a hotel as I’m staying in London over night. Thanks to the driver and...friendly man on the phone. You have a new customer. Good luckMore

Lovely evening at Jay Raj. I was unsure what to have and Shah recommended a wonderful lamb dish and I was not disappointed. Staff were friendly and the food was great, would really recommend a visit.
