Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped here for a quick lunch after reading positive reviews and it definitely lived up to our expectations. Friendly service, fantastic food (huge portions!) and great variety of options. My only criticism would be that my choca-orange mocha was lacking any orange flavour -...still delicious but a bit disappointing. Overall, a lovely little café which I would definitely visit again.More

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to the lady who served us today (11/01/2024). I had my son with me and the highchairs were all in use. As a first time mum who gets very anxious going out alone with her son she...couldn’t have been more helpful and kind. Interacting with my son, checking we would be okay and bringing the highchair as soon as it was available, like it was brand new, meant a lot to me. Little acts like this in a busy cafe, meant a lot to me. I never write reviews but I just couldn’t let your kindness past. Thank you.More

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea at one of our favourite cafes, after deciding to try it for our annual festive treat. Lovely service (including a courtesy call the day before to check our dietary requirements). Simple, fresh sandwiches, interesting warm savoury tarts, melt in the...mouth fresh, warm blueberry scones (with clotted cream and jam ;)) and a dinky selection of mini cheesecake, macarons, carrot cake and a zesty tart with a sprinkling of fresh fruit. All accompanied with lovely cuppas. We weren't rushed and, aside from it being a little noisy as the place was busy all afternoon, we'd a great time.More

I love the fact that my favourite dish here is more colourful than most of my clothes. The whipped feta (not a cheese I claim to like) and beetroot on toast with poached egg and beetroot humuus is so fresh, zingy and delicious. And so...nice to see some different things on a menu.More

Called with my granddaughter today, we've never been before, however, we will go back. We were seated where we wanted to be, menu offered, very quick to take our order, I was unsure about the tea but the young waiter pointed out some jasmine tea,...which came in a lovely teapot and cup and saucer, delicious, well recommended. The food didnt take too long, I had olive and feta salad, granddaughter had soda bread, salmon and rocket salad. Very nice and different. Decor very different and unusual, we really enjoyed it.More

Such a beautiful little spot for breakfast/brunch. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, unfortunately I didn’t catch the man’s name who served our table but he was great! Visited with family last week and we were all impressed! One of the best breakfast spots...I have been to, food was so delicious (I had poached eggs and bacon on toast, which was cooked to perfection!) and fairly quick to arrive after ordering, and they have a great selection of cakes/treats too. Couldn’t recommend enough - will definitely be returning.More

Perfect late lunch. Ambience and hospitality were first class from all concerned. Special mushroom and rosemary frittata was delicious as was the Bacon and Egg on sourdough (without hollandaise). Good selection of cakes to compliment the range of coffees and teas. We spent a long...time chatting, eating and drinking without feeling in anyway rushed. Felt like home from home. Highly recommended.More

Visiting family in Huddersfield, we decided to have breakfast at Northern Tea Rooms which turned out to be a mistake!! I ordered soy flat white coffee only to be advised they don’t “do” soy !! I didn’t bother having a drink but ordered egg on...toast which was seriously plain and boring. The youngest member of our family had sponge cake which was so dry that it remained un eaten and another member who is a coeliac ordered gluten free cheese on toast having checked out the menu before arrival but on ordering was told that there was a mustard ingredient that made the meal glutinous. This cafe needs to get with the program and offer more options. We left and found a cafe which provided me with the fix I needed especially first thing in the morningMore

I’m afraid we only allow guide dogs inside but customers often sit outside with their dogs to eat and drink and we do provide a dog bowl for water.

I’m Afraid we only reserve tables for Afternoon tea from 2:30, otherwise it is a first come first served basis I’m Afraid. If you are coming for Lunch arrive just before 12 to have more chance of a seat. Thankyou
