Went for an early meal on a Thursday evening, what a great place, small, intimate and fun. Went for the Steak Night option and was not disappointed. Nice touch was that as I had booked a table, I was presented with a little chalk board with my name on so that we could choose any table we wanted.
Service fantastic, food took just the right amount of time to come (so it was obviously freshly prepared). Steak spot on (we like it Blue) which is hard to achieve these days. All tasted great and would be straight back if we come o Folkestone again. Only tiny criticism, would have like the choice of chunky chips or wedges instead of the thin ones. Still 5 star though!

Visited here on a Friday night and was very surprised! We was worried when we arrived as we have never visited before and it only looked small. What a nice place this is. Its only a small menu but the servings are massive. I had the beef burger which was really good but massive. At the end the girl who was serving us said you could of ordered a child portion then another young girl came and said I'm not charging you for your meal! I was not expecting that as I hadn't complained as there was nothing wrong with it I just couldn't eat it all. The pie was good and the gammon was massive and looked good. Large portion of mussels as well. Everyone enjoyed there meals and the drink selection was good plenty of different choices.

We spent ages looking for a family friendly restaurant with a 'non chain' and 'freshly cooked food' vibe, and this quirky and unassuming restaurant was exactly what we were looking for.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxed. The food was all freshly prepared and well made with a menu that has something for everyone. They cater any dosh to children's portions as opposed to a separate kids menu, although they did have the usual kids menu suspects like chicken nuggets etc.
They make their own sauces from scratch for the chicken wings and highly recommend the green chilli wings. I'm still yet to find out the secret recipe... mission ongoing 😉.
Muscles, steaks, chips, desserts all tried, tested and really tasty. Great local gins too!.
You could spend hours viewing all their war memorabilia and quirky signs up and around the place.
Overall, EXCELLENT!

I went out for lunch with my two sons. One of whom is autistic so eating out is a struggle due to most people's lack of empathy , the other a toddler so as you can already imagine, I had my hands full! The customer service I received was outstanding and I was helped in every way possible. Anything I needed was not too much to ask and I cannot thank the hard working, friendly, professional staff enough. The food was delicious, as I've previously mentioned the customer service was outstanding and the atmosphere was so lovely.
Unfortunately for these staff, some other potential customers were very rude, dismissive and argumentative, not giving the staff a chance to explain anything.
I have to say the staff here are grafters!
It was a pleasure eating and drinking here and I shall do so again in the near future.

Today we had a fabulous roast when visiting with my partner, 4 year old and friend. We have been meaning to come for a long time as we have heard such good reviews. We booked a table as their Facebook page advises,as they 'hate to turn away customers during busy periods.'
The food was gorgeous and the crackling on the slow roasted belly pork was to die for! The lagers and ales were delicious.
Thank you to the staff for being so welcoming and friendly; it is very well organised during times of social distancing and we all felt very safe to eat in this place.
We will definitely be returning!

We are now regulars, particularly on a weekend for both Sunday roasts & breakfast,
We visited last Sunday & my partner had the pork belly & I had the beef. Honestly it just doesn’t get better!!
The beef was succulent & moist as always, veggies perfectly done & tasty, roast potatoes soft inside & crisp outside, all covered in a delicious gravy.
My partners pork belly was equally divine according to him. The totally empty & scraped clean plates told the tale of satisfied delight. Gotta love Sundays at the Tap!!!
Additionally we had dessert. I had a lemon sponge with custard, my partner the cheesecake. Lemon sponge so tasty, just the right lemon content & not over powering, delightfully moist & light with the perfect custard accompaniment. Just loved it!
My partners satisfied grin told the same tale on the cheesecake.
To add to it, there is always a great selection of craft beers for my partner to enjoy. I personally just like the Bouverie pilsner.
One thing to highlight is we also regularly visit for the breakfasts. Always amazes me that there’s not a huge number of people in there having it when we go on weekends. We always have the veggie breakfast & we are not vegetarian. It’s just so incredibly good that although we aim to try others, we struggle to miss out on the veggie breakfast. We will be back this weekend to have another. Yum yum.
Having said the above, don’t be afraid to have food any time. It’s always well prepared & cooked & delicious. And done in a delightfully decorated WW1 memorabilia interior, with fabulously helpful & fun staff who are happy to help with anything required
You just can’t go wrong here. We will return again. Love this place.

I’d not visited before but this pub is fantastic. Really friendly staff, lovely relaxed atmosphere and their Sunday lunch was just fabulous. I had the roast beef which was thickly cut, cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth.

Reviews for The Bouverie Tap were good, so we thought we'd try it. The staff were great, so friendly and very happy to recommend some good beers for my husband, and the food was amazing, I had the mussels in white wine, garlic and cream sauce with chips, my husband had the fish and chips, for dessert I had chocolate brownie and Ice cream, my husband had the lemon cheesecake. The décor was really interesting too. I can highly recommend eating here.

We booked a table for 5 adults and 2 babies for Sunday lunch and were given plenty of space in the window table for our prams which was considerate. We've always enjoyed Sunday roasts at bouverie tap and always order pork which is cooked to perfection. Prices are reasonable and they have a fab selection of ales. The staff are also lovely. A favourite Folkestone pub for us!

Gotta love this pub. Just when you think they can’t do better, they surprise again.
Popped in Friday night & fun happy atmosphere was in flow, staff & customers having a great time.
In good terms, I had the daily special, which consisted of rib eye steak, peppercorn sauce, creamy garlic potatoes, tomato, flat mushroom & salad. Absolutely divine!!
My partner had gammon, eggs & chips and he raved about it
Honestly this pub rocks. Definitely our favourite for quality food, craft beer, atmosphere & cracking value

I booked a table for 5 for my sons birthday, when I booked with Alex, I told him we all wanted to eat steak and thats why we were booking as we had read it was good here, and I had checked the reviews, he said, that was no problem and asked if we would book slightly later as they were busy, so I said no problem. On arrival we were greeted by Alex, as he remembered we had asked for Steak - he said they had run out. We were disappointed but took our seats and checked the menu, which was short, but this usually denotes well cooked food and ingredients in my experience. Two of us chose chicken burger, two beef burgers and one a steak pie. Well I looked at the chips and they looked very shrivelled and dry. My chicken burger and my sons friends chicken burger were very dry and not in the panko breadcrumbs described but in batter. Both the lads who had beef burgers said they were also extremely dry and my sons friend said it was the first burger he hadn't been able to finish due to it being so dry. All the fries were extremely dry. When they came to clear the table and asked how was the food we said the burgers were dry and they just apologised and took the plates. My partner had a steak pie with mash and gravy which he extremely enjoyed. We wish we had just left after being told about the lack of steak, which we had all been looking forward to, and which obviously Alex was aware of. With such a short menu I would have thought their stock control would have been more in control of what people were ordering. We won't be eating here again.

Came here with my daughter before a concert and had amazing service.
She has a milk allergy and the owner came to our table to explain which options there are and which could be adjusted. Between them they tailored a meal which was milk free - she was thrilled as there is usually only 1 vegan option on most menus.
Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Highly recommended!

We love the Bouverie Tap! It has the most gorgeous roast on a Sunday. What I really like is they continue to serve a roast late into the afternoon. We prefer to eat at 5pm so perfect! It is a really friendly place, a great atmosphere and since Covid they have extended and made more room between tables. I felt really safe when I went last week. The AF beer is delicious!
I can’t recommend The Bouverie Tap enough.

Just had the 2 for 1 burgers ( Wednesday night szpecial) . We had the beef and the pork burgers and shared them.
The pork burger was the best I have tasted (and I am not a spring chicken) with spinach and black pudding. And cooked just right. The beef called the Bouverie, was pink and succulent and lovely.
Couldn't fault it And good service and great beer.
It's got my vote!

Well what can I say! From the minute we walked in the door to the minute we walked out( we were the last ones) the team at the Bouverie Tap went above and beyond to make sure that we had the best night ever. And we did!
21 of us! It was no easy feat but the team didn’t skip a beat. The table decor was beautiful and the room had been tastefully decorated with sparkly lights and window decor.
The front of house staff - led by Kayleigh- were fantastic. Professional throughout. Not easy when you have 21 excited Christmas party goers !
Now onto the food. Wow ! The kitchen staff surpassed themselves. All courses were superb. Food was piping hot and plentiful. It was without a doubt the best Christmas dinner that I’ve had at such a large Christmas get together. So thank chef and your kitchen staff ( especially the pot wash who kept those plates free for the chef) we appreciate the hard work from you all.
So the highest of recommendations to you all and thanks again for making the start of our Christmas season so wonderful.
