Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a fantastic spot for excellent seafood (but not exclusively), great cooking and outstanding service from this family run establishment. Enjoy dining in a train carriage during the winter or outside on the harbour arm in summer. Superb!

Has to be one of the very best lobsters I have tasted, fresh and full of taste. So fresh it must have been landed today! Superb cooking. The mussels were just as good sweet and succulent. Salads were tossed in a delicious oil which I...suspect is of the chef's own making. Small but good selection of wines. My white could have been cooler. service was efficient and friendly.More

Great place for hot seafood platter- good amount of food served promptly. Came with fries and bread. All food well cooked and served nicely - a finger bowl would be helpful after peeling the prawns!! Otherwise excellent.

Wow. Wow. Wow. Had walked past this lovely little quaint railway carriage on numerous occasions and decided to try it with my wife for our wedding anniversary. What an amazing place. We decided to go for the lobster and 1/2 crab platter. By far the...best seafood platter we have ever eaten. Half a lobster, dressed crab, crevettes, cockles, smaller prawns, mussels, lovely crusty bread. This was exceptional value we had a couple of beers and and couple of double rums all for £100. Amazing place. If you want a fantastic meal looking over the channel this is a must. Will be back for sure.More

Ordered hot seafood platter to share £45 - prawns were off, smelt terrible, like dog s%#t, yet still served up - wife had one bite & bolted to toilet to be sick, rest of the platter bang average - ‘Iceland’ deep fired fish bits, lots...of closed mussels, sloppy Mac n cheese with no lobster. When I complained about prawns just received ‘sorry’ & given some shelled ‘Iceland’ prawns which were over cooked & tasteless. Complained again & demanded a refund which I had to fight for, never offered, despite being served with clearly gone off prawns! Chef even had the cheek to say they’ve had to throw away over £100s worth of prawns….as if it was my fault🤷🏼‍♂️ Shocking food, even worse was the way they dealt with my complaint. Avoid this overpriced, poor quality fish carriage!More

Had calamari with chips and salad and a crab and prawn linguine. The calamari was a frozen battered affair. Chips were not the best. Salad mostly spinach leaves. The linguine had little crab in it and was a bit tasteless. Maybe we just ordered the...wrong stuff. It was certainly a long way from my best meal or 10/10More

Hey when we are asked for calamari we always explain that it’s not on our menu and that it is battered The linguine has a whole crab in.. obviously not in its shell but in the sauce

I’ve eaten seafood all over the world but nothing compares with this restaurant. The menu is totally seafood, mostly mussels but also lobster and crab. I have NEVER had a better meal! Great value for money and although really busy, not too busy to give...me personal attention. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting excellent seafood at a reasonable price. Cannot speak more highly. I’m not connected in any way with the company!!More
