Having read the good reviews, my son and I booked a table for early on a Tuesday night. The pub itself is small, and the bar area had a number of locals in it.
To be honest, it didn't look promising, but we were seated by a lovely man in the tiny lounge, where a friendly Scottish couple engaged us in conversation.
We chose the smoked salmon starter, which came promptly. It was beautifully presented, with thin slices of silky salmon dotted with salty capers and pickled shallots, and a triangle of perfectly crisp toast and wedge of lemon.
It was simple, and exceptionally good.
My son ordered the beefburger, which was thick and meaty, and came with lovely crispy chips.
I had the 'famous' pie, which was more of a stewed beef topped with a separate puff pastry disc-this didn't matter, as it was one of the best pies I've ever tasted. Really flavourful, with perfectly cooked new potatoes on the side.
My son had a dark chocolate pave for dessert, which was the only thing we weren't keen on.
It was brilliantly presented with honeycomb scattered over the top, but the pave itself wasn't sweet enough despite the honeycomb, and although I like the sweet salty combo, it had too much salt in it. The raspberry sorbet was well flavoured, but again was too bitter an accompanyment.
I wish I had room to taste the other desserts.
This was surprisingly refined food for the setting, and was probably the best meal we had in dunkeld, including at out posh hotel!

We class The Perth Arms as our go to pub when we visit Dunkeld. There is always a great welcome from Owners and staff, including Taz the big German shepherd pub dog.
We love taking our own dogs in as they are very dog friendly, even giving us towels to dry our pair after being out for a walk in the snow.
On Sunday we had a roast beef Sunday lunch and it was beautiful, everything cooked just right.
If your looking for good food, great choice of lagers and beers and a warm welcome for you and your dogs go no further.

Another amazing meal at the Perth Arms- 2 nights in a row and they delivered superbly each night. Lovely friendly staff who were very welcoming and very dog friendly. The meals are high quality, very good value for money and cooked well to a consistent high standard. We’ll be back and will aim to book in advance to avoid any disappointment!

We were up in Dunkeld for a week and ate often in the PA. Both in the pub and in the beer garden. The food is excellent quality and showing a real flare. The ambience in the beer garden is particularly good. Quaint, welcoming and lovely atmosphere. The staff couldn’t be more helpful. Great to have the local knowledge and care which obviously goes into this business from the owners down to the part time staff. Highly recommend a visit. Their home made venison and haggis sausages with trimmings was 5 star. We will definitely be back.

Epic food - some of the best you will eat in the area. Loved this place and the food so much first time we made a return visit two days later. The Perth Arms not only serves pub food how it should be but it serves any food how it should be. All dishes, including steak and ale pie, langoustines and belly pork light bites were all amazing. Really good value for money too. Friendly and welcoming service. Well done !

This is a small family run pub. Like a lot of bars there are compromises due to Covid19.
Bar screened off and ample hand cleaning dispensers about the place. People were not put off as it was always busy. Tables well spread out and a small beer garden in the courtyard at the back.
Good craft beers on sale from local craft breweries.
Food is good quality and again from local sources.
I had Confit if Duck spring rolls with a home made plum sauce - one of these dishes you would just keep on eating - superb !
The owners are on hand and when we went in the next day for a drink remembered what I ordered - nice touch that !

I went with my partner for a meal, and glad that we booked a table as they were having to turn folk away. We both had the venison special, which we were both thought was absolutely excellent. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was also of the highest quality. They also had a couple of decent real ales on tap. The service was very friendly and good, and we left highly satisfied and highly recommended anyone visiting this area to go.

We were looking for somewhere to eat, no prior booking or arrangements having been made, after walking around Dunkeld to see what was available and what Covid procedures were in place, we decided to try The Perth Arms and we are very glad we did. First, all covid procedures were in place & enforced, then we were well received in a friendly, welcoming manner before settling down to enjoy an excellent lunch, well made and fresh served quickly by friendly, accommodating staff.
A thoroughly enjoyable lunch in every respect, well worth a visit, we will certainly be back.

Went to this pub on 2 occasions, once for drinks, and the other time for food and drinks.
This is a free house, and supports local Perthshire Brewers by offering cask ales, which I can recommend.
It has a good mixture of locals and tourists, a beer garden, and inside shows live football.
The food is homemade and good quality. I tried one of the specials which was Goat Sausages and they were delicious.
It was good value, one 3 course and one 2 course meal meal, and 5 alcoholic drinks for £61

What a fantastic wee local friendly pub to visit. Karen, hubby, family and staff have this well sorted. We have been visiting Dunkeld for years and I would totally recommend a visit. It was always such a welcome place to visit, however the work they have put in since COVID is amazing. Inside and outside are Comfy with Shelter and the food is fab especially the outdoor oven cooked pizza, well done Karen’s son !

Spur of the moment decided to have dinner at the pub and I was not disappointed. Saw the Trip Advisor sign as i sat down and decided to give this place a closer look. Everyone kept commenting on how amazing the steak pie was and i can safely agree with them.
Warm, hearty and a very nice place to grab a drink or a bite to eat and mingle with some friendly locals.

This pub is truly a great place for a drink.it still has that authentic local bar feel with very friendly locals and lovely bar staff. The prices for drinks are excellent, you are not getting ripped off that’s for sure. We also had meals for 4 adults & 2 children,
The food was excellent and the prices were fantastic, and there is definitely no skimping with the sizes of the portions on your plate.when all is said and done this is Exactly what a pub should be like.

Been to Dunkeld 14th to 21st May. Lovely place. Been in some of the hotels and then found the Perth Arms. Such a friendly pub. Vicki and Karen behind the bar also lovely. Couldn’t do enough for us. The food is reasonable and good. My husband likes baked beans with his meal and they made sure he had some. Would highly recommend visiting it.
Prices are pub prices. Hotels around a bit expensive for food .

Visited today and had an excellent pub lunch. Macaroni cheese was delicious and a special mention to the salted chocolate pave with raspberry sorbet and honeycomb, one of the best desserts I’ve ever eaten. Menu selection is extensive with bar lunch staples a plenty, but also something a bit special on offer too. Can not recommend highly enough.
