Came in with friends for some food on a Saturday evening. We had to request more bread for the Camembert starter, none of which was warm as stated on the menu. Some cutlery was taken away with the starter and not replaced for mains. My BBQ Pulled Beef sandwich was disgusting and had to go back. It smelt vile and... More

We visited the castle and then walked into town looking for a spot of lunch. This place is much nicer inside than it looks from the outside. It's lovely, cosy wood and comfy chairs. The menu is really nice, almost too much choice and perfect for breakfast, brunch or lunch although the coffee and cakes looked nice too. The food... More

We have a soft spot for The Limetree and usually visit when in Chepstow. We hadn't been for over a year but we were pleased that the high standards of food and service have been maintained. Very clean and inviting, the homely feel of The Limetree never fails to make us feel relaxed and happy! Food was excellent with a... More

Visited for a birthday lunch with friends. As usual slow, poor food and expensive. We keep on giving the Lime Tree another chance. This time the fish cake with a poached egg on top was disappointing, for three of us our fishcakes were burnt and too expensive at nearly a tenner. I'm afraid the well known chain pub just opposite... More

Having previously enjoyed visits to the Lime Tree my daughter and l were disappointed on our latest trip to find our meals were cold despite being served on warm plates and the toilets had an unpleasant odour indicating they had not been cleaned to an appropriate standard. We would be reluctant to visit again.

Great coffee latte and hot chocolate. Lovely clean place friendly staff. Would have had cake if more were on display.

Highly recommend menu position and service. It was warm cosy and fun. The live music is a drawcard too.

we went to the lime tree for a late lunch. The atmosphere was very chilled out but had a good vibe . cross section of customers . From family to singles. sometimes being a single woman it is difficult to find a nice place to eat and work alone. this is an ideal place. On this occasion I was with... More

Having had a couple of really good veggie breakfasts at the Lime Tree (and we'll definitely be back again for that) we booked to go for dinner on my birthday. We were shown our table and given menus, with an explanation that there were no specials on that night. The standard menu's really limited if you don't eat meat, but... More

Arrived with my wife for a 'big birthday' lunch and 'bottle' of wine. Upon arrival, around 1.30pm we checked when food was served until. We where told until 10pm. Lovely. Sat down and enjoyed a glass of wine and chat. Suddenly we realised the restaurant staff where being sent home for the afternoon. Checked with the Manager, and yes, they... More
