We visited as a stop by on Jubilee weekend for some lunch. it's in a quaint little village not too far from Chepstow and is the perfect village pub. They had a large menu, dog friendly, happy staff, and vegan options. They also have a...large pub garden. Not many vegan options, but enough for a bit of choice. Also good price. usually village pubs are quite expensive, but this one was quite cheap considering .More

I don’t usually complain and we’ve had some great meals at the Miller’s but we popped in for a Sunday roast and I can honestly say that I’ve had better food at boarding school. We booked a table and by the time we sat down...at 2.30pm they’d already sold out of the beef and chicken, so roast pork it was. For starters, I ordered the “caramelised onion soup”. It was under-seasoned and thin with chunks of undercooked onions soaking in the bowl. The over-toasted puck of baguette had some unmelted cheese sprinkled on top. A soup so far from the unctuous French Onion soup I adore, it left me feeling a bit sad. The disappointment continued as the main course arrived: bland and limp with a mound of rubbery roast potato and boiled skin-on potatoes making up the bulk of the plate. The accompanying veg was boiled and plain. No stuffing, no crackling, two thin grey slivers of steamed pork, the fat white and inedible, even after dousing it in the equally bland gravy that arrived in a stainless steel boat at the table. At £34 for two pints, two bowls of soup and two mains, it’s really not great value at all. Perhaps they were just having an off day, but I’m not sure I’m going to be hurrying back soon.More

Only one portiion of soup of the day, and a very long list of food not available. As it was steak night a lot of us went for the steak. Which were very tough and with blunt steak knives to cut them with it made...it more difficult. One of our party had chicken which was extremley tough and very dry and served with very pale triple cooked chips not very appealing. The icecream sundays were very good but obviously invloved no cooking, We were also very disappointed that the kitchen staff were all standing in the doorway smoking which meant we had to walk through clouds of smoke on our way out. The two girls serving us were very apologetic about the situation and we felt sorry for them. Having read all the reviews before going we thought it would be a different experience than what we had.More

Just had an excellent Mother’s Day meal for 12 here. Really good food, prompt and efficient service with lots of staff catering for our needs. Can’t fault it. Very reasonable prices too. GF well catered for. 3 children with good sized portions served. Very nice...play area. Adequate play area for our brood. We’ll definitely come again - we were made to feel very welcome and that our custom was important. Thank you.More

We were staying at a CL site just near the Millers Arms, we called in for a few drinks, and we were made to feel welcome straight away. All the staff and the regular customers were so friendly, when we left we felt like we...had known everyone in there forever not just a few hours. Went back the following day for the Wales rugby International and there was no seats but the landlord seen us and instantly made a space for 3 of us to sit. Thoughrroughly recommend this pub if your in the area.More

Having seen a post on Facebook advertising the grill night, thought we’d try to banish the January blues with a meal out. Staff were very welcoming on arrival, quick to seat us with menus and take drink orders. We asked about the grill night menu,...the landlady shouted across that it had been one of those days and menus weren’t printed yet. We said we’d like the rib eye, we’re told that they had none, but then later advised they did. Our food arrived, the steaks were cooked perfectly. Absolutely delicious. Sadly the chips were awful. I was reluctant to complain as the serving staff were superb, but they were inedible. We were told that it was due to the latest batch of potatoes delivered, which is fair enough, but they really should not have been served. We had a portion of fries as a substitute, they were great! Despite the excellent bar/waiting staff, the management put us off, and despite being our closest pub we won’t return.More

This pub is perfect for its hospitality, the bar is welcoming and pleasant with amazing staff that are always cheery and welcoming. The restaurant serves first-class top quality food, Steak night is a must on a Wednesday along with Curry night on a Thursday. The...staff are well presented and always happy to help. The village pub is a real community pub and all are welcome and this is clearly seen with the landlord and landlady welcoming all in, from regulars to newcomers and passing walkers/visitors to the area. First class everytimeMore
