Me and my sister spent a week in Hay, and ate at the Blue Boar three times. We'd been to Hay-on-Wye about eight years prior, and had already eaten at the Blue Boar. We were definitely excited to find that the Blue Boar has the...More

Lovely pint of Timothy Taylor’s and then a pint of the fabulous Rev James. We were going to try a couple more but barman had been told by landlord he wasn’t allowed to serve samples which is reasonable if a bit unusual nowadays. We had...More

Really struggled finding evening food in Hay but looked forward to blue boar having been recommended it and having seen reviews. However the menu was a bit strange for a pub, the only thing either of us fancied was the cod or burgers but both...More

The bar area is lovely, the food great and the staff friendly. The only negative, the way to the loos needs some TLC as the carpets aren't great and it's a bit shabby out back.
