The food here was excellent. I had ribeye steak, the Mrs had chicken burger, and our daughter had a kids chicken strips meal. Could fault any of it. Top class food and service. Highly recommend.

Visited 28/03/2024 whilst staying nearby. Fancied a steak and Baileys seemed to be the best local recommendation. No reservation but seated immediately. Nice atmosphere inside with a slightly noisy bar downstairs but led upstairs to the quieter restaurant area. Ordered 2 kangaroo steaks with fries...and the wife having the additional king prawns as well. All food served within 15 minutes, piping hot and cooked well to steak requests. King prawns were also delicous. I swapped chips for truffle and parmesan fries which were good but I would have preferred more truffle but just personal preference. All in all a brief visit but friendly service, good food cooked well and a nice atmosphere for a decent price. £61 for both steaks with extras and a glass of prosecco more than reasonable.More

This was our first visit to Bailey’s and we weren’t disappointed. We booked for a pre-theatre dinner for four of us. The service was very good and friendly throughout. Our meals were beautifully cooked and presented, two of our party had duck and the others...chicken and fish. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and ambience. We would definitely come back for our next trip to Buxton.More

Booked a table for 7.30, arrived a little early but the table was ready for us, we took a seat and water was brought to the table with menus. Drinks order taken and we sat back to look at the menu, Didn't feel rushed even...though the restaurant was very busy. Ordered and enjoyed the time to talk. Starters arrived and very well cooked and presented. Our waiter kept an eye on us from a far, and when we had done the plates cleared. No fuss. Mains arrived, OMG the dirty burger is huge, but very tasty. Hubby had a chicken and beef burger and again huge portion but well presented and cooked. We will definitely returnMore

I visited here with my husband for a pre-theatre dinner (which was the same menu as the evening menu). We were warmly greeted by the waiter and were glad we were shown to the upper floor as there were dogs (with humans!) on the ground...floor. Our table was next to the window which gave lovely views over Buxton. We shared a starter of duck bon bons. Very tasty. For main I had fish pie and my husband stuffed chicken breast. Both served with vegetables. Gorgeous food and generous portions. Sadly we had no room for dessert. We wish we lived closer so that we could visit again!More

Great service and lovely food. Gorgeous cocktails. Friendly efficient staff. The prawn gumbo was delicious as was the fish pie. My partner had the tuna which was equally delicious. A good varied cheese board finished off a wonderful meal.

Booked for Sunday Lunch and we were not disappointed. Lovely atmosphere, friendly chatty host, stuck for choices so we asked the owner and were recommended to the roast. He offered us a special of three meats, and it came out beautifully presented on a platter...to share. The veg were so fresh, the Yorkshire so fluffy, the meat beautifully cooked and it was all so hot. Sadly no space for desert but we will be back!More

Table for four old college friends meeting up after a fair few years, we were seated a bit later than anticipated and the restaurant was very busy, I have to say four of us left Bailey's very happy with the quality of the service and...the food we had! We gave our compliments on the night and would take this opportunity to do so again!! Keep doing what you are doing, you do it very well! Can't wait for my next trip out to Buxton!!More

This eatery has been our place of choice when in Buxton for a night at the Opera House but after last night no more. When we expressed some concern about our meal being late we were told that 30 minutes is not bad because they...cook from fresh and there was plenty of time because the show didn't start for another hour! Fifteen minutes later our food arrived without an apology. Needless to say we had no time for desert or coffee. We will not go there again, bad customer service and a terrible attitude to their customers. And the food wasn't really worth waiting 45 minutes forMore

Despite our best efforts, we do occasionally come across people that we cannot please. You did enquire where your food was after 25 minutes of ordering and with a total disregard of a packed restaurant, your response, rudeness and in blunt, sheer ignorance when staff...More
