Best to phone ahead as this pub is clearly very popular! We visited on a Friday evening with our dog (welcome in the non - carpeted area of the pub) and had a superb meal. Large portions and friendly service.

The food was excellent and I had the steak and kidney pie on both visits. The staff were very good and they also catered for dogs in one section of the pub. Well worth a visit.

Have visited this inn on many occasions and have never been disappointed. The food is exceptional. The landlord and staff are really friendly and cannot do enough for you. Never had a bad meal. It really is a little gem in the Peak District..

A great place, at the end of the village, opposite the quiet churchyard. The food was excellent, and reasonably priced, the service was friendly. We were most impressed.
