Booked a table for lunch, to find out that there were no main courses only bar snacks. Could if told us when booking as we drove an hour and a half to meet friends. Staff were pleasant enough. Won't be rushing back

We live in the next village to this lovely old Inn but had not visited in some years as we had had a number of poor experiences when it was under previous management. We decided to give it a go as reviews were positive and...More

If you are thinking of where you can find a good quality restaurant in or around Banbury, I suggest you give this establishment a very wide berth. The Sunday Lunch menu is grossly overpriced. Sunday Lunch for 4 including two bottles of sparkling water( £4...More

Visited today for a family lunch to celebrate my mum's birthday. I ordered the beef roast. The whole meal was cooked to perfection. I couldn't fault it and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I had to ask how they cook the parsnips as they...More

I can't recommend this inn enough. The service is so uplifting, 3 ladies all bubbly and obviously happy to work there. That in it's self is a credit to the black boy inn. Add the quality and taste of the food with the ambience of...More

Good free parking, Arrived after 9pm on a Friday night, Short wait for a table, but enjoyed a pre dinner drink. Fantastic cuisine, attentive staff. Help given to elderly disabled. Will certainly be going back.

We visited on an opportune Saturday when we had someone to look after the children. We stumbled upon a live music night so the conversation was difficult due to the volume. The restaurant/ dining area was populated but by no means full however the two...More

The black boy inn at milton is a gem, offering sensational food in a friendly and relaxed environment. Family owned & operated this gorgeous 16th century long building nestles on the edge of picturesque milton, set well back from the milton road which runs between bloxham and adderbury. A recently completed refurbishment has resulted in a genuinely charming interior, entirely in keeping with the 400 year old building. The long room has a real wood stove at one end and a comfortable dining room at the other; brought together by the handmade, traditionally crafted bar, made by the owners father. A new, conservatory-style dining room - perfect for private parties or business meetings - opens out onto a gravel courtyard. Out front there is terraced seating and half an acre of landscaped gardens. Most definitely a pub; (dogs welcome) but keenly focused on top quality food. Our very talented chef Edward and his great, enthusiastic team bringing a wide range of experiences and quality, surpassing anything previous. Not a whiff of boil in the bag or microwaved horrors, just totally fresh food cooked from scratch to order. Menus change with the seasons and make regular use of local produce. The new team is intent on ensuring that the black boy not only remains as an integral part of the local milton community, but also offers an unrivalled welcome to visitors from further afield. Restaurant standard service combined with truly delicious food means a visit to the black boy inn is time and money well spent.
