We thought we'd be getting better than your average pub food but it really went beyond expectations. Quality ingredients, put together with a bit of originality and flair. Would highly recommend the venison. Topped off with friendly service and they pour a very decent pint of Guinness too.

Really heard good reviews of this place. Had rung to get menus emailed to me twice as advised menu on website not correct. On second call responder was very rude! so rude I hung up something I would never normally do. Although fairly local to us will never go there and will share my experience. Very sad they are not... Bought a "Taster 4 course" deal via Groupon. £38 for 2 people. Wasn't sure what to expect. Well, absolutely fantastic! Menu was different. Portions were normal size.Food was full of flavour. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. I will definitely be returning.

Probably best to book, although we hadn't, the Lady behind the bar said we could have a table although we had to be out in an hour, which suited us. She was very friendly and welcoming. We had a lentil roast which was great. Lovely Vegetables from the Carvery selection. Best roast 'ive had for a while. The place soon... More

Went with six friends on a Monday evening. Was not very busy but the service was excellent and the food was very good quality.

Typically we are always looking for new places to eat. I had heard good reports and went with friends for lunch. The four course taster menu is a choice of meals off of the menu which is comprehensive without being something for absolutely everyone. On arrival there were 3 ales 2 of which were pub branded but produced by mad... More

I went for lunch and took two friends with me. I booked a table in advance and suggest this is best. The food was cooked to order and excellent. Not suitable if you only have a limited time for lunch unless you have a bar snack.

We came across this pub restaurant while out hiking today (Sunday). Went in at 4pm and the staff quickly provided a table for me, my wife and daughter. Had the carvery but my daughter has special dietary requirements. Although the restaurant provided for this, the chef and staff went out of their way to make her meal as enjoyable as... More

Popped in after having lunch a few weeks ago to see if it would be as good as before. This time opted for the pie of the day which was faultless. Crisp pastry, lovely filling and silkly mash potato. Great lunch and as a single diner i was looked after well.... Highly recommended , good beer and warm decor.....

In the ancient parish of Brook, under the ridge of the Brabourne downs sits a gem of an inn, The Honest Miller. This village inn, built in 1609, was for many years a meeting place for countrymen out pigeon shooting and hare coursing. It was also where the local hunt would meet, waiting on horseback to receive their mulled wine and spirits.Today, in this historic atmosphere, the attractions are a little different. Sit in the beautiful old English beer garden sipping quality real ale, or enjoy a ploughman’s lunch among the free range chickens. The beer garden is ideal for children, with a resident Shetland pony, rabbits, guinea pigs, sheep and ducks.Inside, the inn oozes charm, with an open log fire and friendly welcome. It’s a romantic spot for couples to enjoy a candlelit dinner. Walkers and cyclists are also valued customers, along with their dogs. The kitchen is the hearts of this place – you need look no further for a superior home-made meal. Melt-in-the-mouth Romney Marsh lamb shanks, slow roasted and served with leek and rosemary gravy are just one of the delights on offer. Start with roasted butternut & vegetable soup, or creamy goat’s cheese with roasted peppers. Try our rack of Pork belly ribs with hickory barbecue sauce and homemade chips or Haddock with a mature cheddar & herb crumble topping. Desserts include Italian tiramisu, with Madeira and mascarpone, apple blackberry crumble, bread and butter pudding and lemon meringue pie. There are also vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes.
