I’ve always been a fan of The Woods and I’ve always promoted restaurant to my friends and family that was until this Saturday. Wanting to take advantage of Woods new takeaway service which we do used once or twice before without issue, but this Saturday,...after ordering a commodore, I was left with a broken tooth and cut mouth due to a large lump of sharp burnt material slap bang in the middle of the burger, I contacted woods on Saturday to be told no manager was available and I gave my details for somebody to call me back Sunday time. Nobody return my call I contacted them again to be told somebody had picked up my number and will be back to me as soon as possible, Monday comes and goes I email no response finally get through on Tuesday afternoon to talk to the manager, whose only excuse for not contact me as I wasn’t in. Can we get back to you know I haven’t read the email and I am insisting that they deal with my complaint as I’ve had already been waiting since Saturday. He hangs up so when we arrive at the restaurant to confront them face-to-face of which I videoed and threatened with the police because I’m threatening or harassing them because I’m trying to make a customer complaint and he doesn’t want to deal with it so he’s text the boss who tells him to just call the police. This is how they treat their customers.More

My son chose Woods for his 18th birthday meal and what a great choice. Staff were excellent in the lead up to the meal about dropping balloons etc off and even better service on the night too. Now let’s talk about the food , one...word, AMAZING. Best burgers and dude ever, we all had a great meal and stared a great 18th for my son , thank you The Woods.More

Lovely friendly staff! Food was great! Only downside was the manager who was moping around not helping and having a go at his staff which was odd as they were already running round whilst he was just leaning against the counter doing nothing!

We had a great time at the Woods. The restaurant itself is nice, great location and very vibey. Me and my partner were seated very quickly and had great service all evening. The waitress was very accommodating regarding special requests and any questions we had....The food itself was really good! My partner had a burger and chips. I had mozzarella sticks and cheesy bacon fries! It is not the cheapest but the portions are all very large and well worth the price. We did take some food home and we ate it all the next day! We will defiantly be visiting again!More

We were staying the night on Worthing and booked this on the recommendation of a family member. We enjoy a good burger and had viewed the menu online before arriving at the restaurant. We had an initial hiccup with my husband having a cold burger...but this was quickly rectified with a freshly cooked replacement and indeed a discount of 10% on the bill at the end of the meal. When pre-meal budgeting be aware that fries need to be purchased separately and are not included with your burger. A small but great choice of wines and beers, something for everyone.More

Disappointing. The lights were out above the side of the restaurant where we were seated. We could not see the menus without using the torches on our phones. We asked to be moved and were told all the other tables were larger and booked. We...watched what happened and there was at least one table we could have been moved to. When we ordered curly fries we were told they had run out. Really? They only offer two sorts of chips and surely they could have enough ordered to service the restaurant over Xmas and New Year? Then we ordered beers and were told neither of the two bitters were available leaving just two lagers. Again, unacceptable when you only have a very limited offer anyway. How can you run out of both beers? The Asst manager did not seem very concerned about the lack of light or lack of basics on the menu. They have never had any starters but also now only have two desserts and no ice cream. Suggests that they just want to get people through quickly and not interested in customers enjoying a relaxed three course meal. The burgers were OK but not as good as previous visits. Coleslaw was very good. We noticed that the bill indicated they are no longer independent and under a wider umbrella of a burger chain. Perhaps this explains it. Last time we ate here in the autumn the Gents loo was out of action meaning everyone was using the one ladies' loo which was in quite a state as a result. Again, nobody seemed very concerned or apologetic. This time, the toilet had not been inspected for some time according to the sheet on the door. We have eaten here regularly over the past four years because we really loved the whole experience but it has declined steadily and we will be trying elsewhere now. Such a shame.More

The table was broken and was unusable it was like a wobble board but worse, we tried to speak to Lucas but he unavailable and the staff of young girls basically out of their depth and useless

Perfect date night Good food & Quick service & Cold beers Happy time - we celebrated a new job and was able to book on the day

Absolutely delicious, I'm so picky with eating out but these burgers were so tasty as well as the cheesy bacon fries Will & already have recommended

I've been here because some friends recommended this restaurant to me. I took the commodore burger and some cheese bacon fries. Really good quality and lovely decoration.
