I would recommend the food here

We love Mexican food and this restaurant did not disappoint. The staff members were really attentive and due to a large party made it known that the food would take a while (which we accepted as we were not in a rush - quite happy to sit and chat). When the food arrived it was plentiful, freshly cooked and piping hot and quicker than first predicted. I would recommend you try this restaurant. It also wasn't overly expensive.

Lovely food and service with a smile

We enjoyed our meal here so much the other evening that we wanted to leave a review. The food is freshly prepared and delicious and served with a smile. Customers are made to feel very welcome. The owners also seem keen to give good value for money and don’t take their customers for granted

Food was perfect in both presentation and taste! Sizzling hot plates that kept your food warm as you build your fajitas, so that was really fun. The blonde front of house team member (didn’t catch her name) was welcoming and chatty the for our whole visit. Friendly service makes all different so Thankyou, we would recommend.

Such a shame!

Was welcomed by a friendly helpful waitress which was the only positive experience. I ordered the full rack of ribs and my wife chicken fajitas( after 15 minutes of waiting she was told they had no peppers to stuff). The ribs were full of fat (see picture). It advertised homemade coleslaw but tasted like cheap vinegary coleslaw bought from a supermarket. When I asked she said it was homemade so was hard to make it taste so cheap. The guacamole also tasted like a cheap version from the supermarket. We explained to the waitress our complaints. She apologised several times. When payment came a different server came so we assumed there would be another apology and even a reduction. There was nothing. The place was also very cold so we both keep our coats on. Such a shame. Never posted such a negative review. Hope they choose to improve.

Can’t get in!

We have tried on multiple occasions to eat here but it’s impossible! Friday evening (6pm) there was a sign in the window “bookings only, cash only”. Nobody in the restaurant. I’d tried calling earlier in the day to book but no answer. Thought it might be worth calling then to make a booking (as the place was empty) but the phone line was busy (seemed to be disconnected!) Tried our luck by asking inside directly if they had any tables and they asked if we had booked. Told them we couldn’t because the phone lines don’t work but we were decisively turned away.

Superb food in a great and friendly restaurant

I dropped in for dinner after a decent walk along the seafront. The waitress (an owner) was very friendly, prompt and efficient. She and the environment made me glad I'd gone in. My jambalaya was fresh-tasting and showed care and attention in its preparation. The price was very good, especially in light of the sky-high prices I usually see in the Mexican restaurants around the South and into London. Will definitely be back and in greater numbers (though I'm not easily startled :-) ). Loved the place, a real find and highly recommended.

Horrible atmosphere

I was a solo person looking for a meal. Despite the place being practically empty, a big deal was made that they might not have room. I was offered a table in the very back by the kitchen, under a blaring speaker, playing awful music. The menu looked good, so I thought I’d just bear it, but the freezing temperature of the place drove me out before I could order. Ambience and service leaves much to be desired.

Wow! The food, the decor, the overall atmosphere, was all amazing! It was clearly busy being a Friday night, but the ladies kept us completely informed regarding the wait for food. And it was well worth it! Simple things like the salsa were clearly hand-made and fresh. We were really impressed by the whole evening

I did check reviews prior going. Was not disappointed, Food was excellent just what you would expect from a Mexican. Service was quick and very friendly. Take no notice of earlier reviews about either cash only or difficulty contacting by phone. Although it is cash only, notice displayed at entrance. As they are not currently open during the day, nobody available to answer the phone...try calling at night when they are open. (Closed Mondays). BUT, you can always send an email, with booking details and contact number, which I did. They called by to confirm booking on the day.

What a place and great hosts

Im so sorry its took me so long to write this review, but I knew once I started writing, the accolades I give this place would not even mirror the experience we actually had. I dont get away that often, and this break really meant the world to me, My partner could not sing its praises enough and I had to push them out of my mind and go with no expectations. From being greeted and seated to the menu choice, and the service it was way more than I ever imagined Sonya was a great host , sorry if i butchered your name Sonya your presence made the whole experience so lovely and special, I was really pleased with the service we received and how friendly the staff were. I was so glad that we booked as I would have been disappointed if we didnt get a table. We do plan to return as I have a piece of my heart left behind for Worthing, a beautiful place for beautiful people and views to match,

Great party venue, good spicy food and brilliant staff!

We were invited to a 21st birthday party here catering for 14 of us and it was brilliant. The staff were absolutely delightful, so incredibly pleasant and welcoming. Food was great, generous portions and very tasty. Had a great birthday cake which the lovely staff kindly sliced up and send us all home with. We could not have been made to feel more welcome and we will definitely be back. Thanks guys !

Still Excellent

I had to come back to Tex Mex after my delicious meal at Christmas. I brought my hubby along this time as I had been raving about the place ever since. I am glad to say the food, service, food and drink options are still excellent. Both my hubby and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a friendly, independent restaurant with delicious food. We will most definitely be coming back again soon.

Came to TexMex for dinner this evening with my partner and two friends. The food was excellent with such a large choice on the menu and large portions! The service and staff were really prompt and friendly. Will definitely be returning and recommending to friends and family!

Great food but very slow service. No mention of cash only! The sign came out once I waved my company credit card! They told me that they get a lot of that from business people staying in the hotels. Duh!!! Take card payments then!!! Not VAT registered either which I find hard to believe as they look like they should be by the amount of people in there.

Hi jonnyboy1, Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are glad you enjoyed your food and apologise that you did not see the large A4 sign that states Cash Only as you walk into the restaurant. When making TA review’s in the future (positive or negative) please do insure that they are truthful. No sign came out after you waved your credit card, our signage has been in place for two years and hasn’t moved. Regarding your unnecessary VAT comment, I would like to remind you that we are a small family run business. Like many other small family run restaurants recovering from two years of closures due to the pandemic, we are not VAT registered as we are below the threshold. We apologise that this is a disadvantage to your business as you can't claim back any VAT on your invoices, but as I said before we are a small family run restaurant, not a franchise with multiple establishments. Superb. Great food. Incredible service

We came here for a family get together and it was lovely. Our server was the best we have ever had. Helpful, efficient and friendly. The food here has always been good and again it was lovely with reasonable prices and high quality. The nacho starters were lovely but my ribs main were incredible. Hardly any bone with meat that just fell away from the rib. Soft and tasty with the barbeque sauce. Served with a generous portion of chips. No room for desserts. Good selection of beers too Recommended!
