We went as a group of 15 for a friend's retirement and ate in a private room. We had excellent service, the food was exceptional and offered a wide range choice. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and I would recommend the gun for a small private function.

With the tradition old pub feeling and good quality food it's the one we most frequently visit and prefer this to the other four in the village.

I like the Gun, it has a ''local'' feel and it's friendly and welcoming. The food is home cooked and the husband and wife team make the whole place zip along nicely. As always every one else I was with also had a super experience too. The food is a definite plus point and add in the friendliness then this... More

Booked a table here in the restaurant for a family celebration lunch, we'd eaten here on numerous occasions in the past and had always been very good. When we arrived we were shown our table and were surprised to see how full it was,our table for six was shoe horned in somehow by the bar, anyway we squeezed in as... More

I visited the Gun twice over 2 months and always received quick, friendly and welcoming service. I have tried both the roast lamb shoulder and roast beef on each occasion and felt that the lamb was the best overall. The food comes out quickly and although i would have preferred more choice of pudding, the orange sponge drizzle was just... More

We enjoyed a decent meal with friends, although some meat dishes were a little overcooked. The menu provided clear details for gluten free options (I am a coeliac) which is nice not to require/ask for a separate menu. There were an awful lot of waitresses some working much harder than others! The service could of been improved- we sat with... More

What a gem!. We loved the unchanged feel of the place and managed to bag a table right by the open fire. Food was so good at lunchtime that we returned in the evening. The cod, lobster and cockle bisque was probably the best piece of fiish I have eaten, generous in size, crispy skinned and perched on a delicious... More

I was shocked to find on a visit for a drink one evening late December that the main Front Door to the bar was bolted shut. There was a sign outside asking for people to use the other entrance around the back through the beer garden. Upon questioning the bar staff they stated that it was cold and the people... More

Five of us went to this old pub and the meal was excellent. We had ribs, and a giant burger and venison. All of the food was excellent along with the sides of cabbage, fries and Cole slaw. I would highly recommend this pub for its food.

The Gun Inn at Findon is a lovely olde worlde pub and the pub itself takes you back to those days when everyone had a local! I am just not sure about the rest! We had booked a table in the restaurant for lunch but when we arrived were told that the restaurant wasn't being used that day so a... More
