Efes earns high marks from diners for its generous portions of authentic Turkish cuisine, complete with delightful complimentary extras like warm bread and dips. Guests have called out the attentive and personalized service, often noting the friendly staff and their celebratory touches for special occasions. The restaurant's atmosphere is also a hit, with its cozy ambience and authentic Turkish decor bathed in the glow of vibrant mosaic lighting. While the experience might come with a slightly higher price tag, many find the value commendable.

We have been to Efes very many times over the years but last year my wife who had been there for lunch reported smaller portions and not as good as in the past. So this was a return after many months with some apprehension for a birthday dinner. But we like the food and a short walk from home. We didnt recognise any of the front of house staff and instead of the former 3 there were now 6 I think plus a manager or owner overseeing. The menu seemed the same except but newer looking and no longer a bit tatty although prices had edged up. Had there been a change of ownership?: Yes there had our waiter told us. So we ordered with trepidation. Now I quite like Hummus Kavurma to start which is lamb pieces on a bed of hummus. Before, the lamb pieces had been a modest circle on a smallish portion of hummus. Not now. It might have been a tad more expensive but there was a large amount of lamb on really generous serving of hummus. As before we got dips and Turkish bread but we seemed to get a large portion than before. My wife ordered her favourite main of spare ribs which was a huge portion and my son's Beyti Kebab was massive.. My Iskender Kebab was gorgeously rich and I had to pace myself to finish it. I had previously delivered a birthday cake to be brought out but our waiter deliberately misled my wife by bringing a dessert menu. Then came the cake with Turkish themed "Happy Birthday' music, plus complimentary baklava and cream and Turkish coffee. Rounded off with a complimentary liqueur which we think was possible mango. Really wonderful. This how to get people coming back The staff are impeccably turned out and trained. Real improvement. We got very good prompt service and it wasnt frantic like the old days. However I know it was a cold January evening but it did seem a little less busy for a Saturday than it used to be And lo and behold as we went out as we went out there was the original Mr Efes himself the former owner and brothers having dinner. He explained that the restaurant was still 'in the family'. The only slight criticism of our otherwise faultless waiter, was that he should try to smile!

Though I don't get to eat out much these days, some friends i hadn't seen for some time suggested we dined here as they had very good memories of the quality of the food and the atmosphere from their last two visits some time ago. They were delighted to find that the quality was as great as ever, excellent service with an attentive waiter, and nice big portions of delicious authentic Turkish grub at a reasonable price. Highly recommended!

We went for dinner here last night and came away very happy & very full! The food is amazing and you get so much of it, we ordered starters which in hindsight we didn’t even need but they were really nice. They bring out meze & bread to start (free) and then our mains came out, we both ordered shish dishes and the meat was incredible - so much flavour! They also bring out a salad, a tomato salsa/meze dish and a little dish of mushrooms (free) with your meal. Overall we were really happy and it came to £50! Not bad price seeing as we had 4 drinks as well. We didn’t have desserts but they looked very nice 😋 we were just far too full! Service was fine, they were friendly enough. I’d say decor is typically Turkish and almost made me feel like I was abroad. I’d definitely recommend to anyone, it was a great meal and good atmosphere with groups, couples & families. It was quite busy so you can tell it’s popular. It’s not white tablecloth posh either which was nice, I dressed up a tiny bit which I didn’t feel uncomfortable or overdressed but if I went again I’d probably not wear heels. People come in to pick up their takeaways so quite casual vibe. Only negatives I’d say is the road it’s on looks a bit rough (not to be snobby just being honest) it’s not in Worthing town centre and it’s probably a 10 minute walk from the station, parking wasn’t great as it’s all roads for permit holders as it’s residential but people seemed to park on double yellows in front of the restaurant. Looking into the restaurant from outside it looks lovely, just the location doesn’t look very appealing (peoples wheelie bins outside their houses that sort of thing) We ended up parking in a space which says permit holders only but it was a Saturday night so can’t imagine there would be traffic wardens but you never know... Oh last thing, as a recommendation I’d say they could do with investing in a few gin glasses instead of small whiskey type glasses for gin drinkers but it’s not a big deal! Overall it’s a great restaurant, the food was the best part and we will be coming back with friends next time 😃

Biased service tonight. You just lost your regular customers. I don’t normally moan on my reviews but tonight’s experience, we felt totally treated unfairly. We were sat on middle table for two. There’s a couple sat on our left and right side of the table. The ones on the left asked for tap water, when it came it had ice and lemon on it. When we ordered our drinks plus tap water, we were only given just one glass of tap water. No ice. No lemon. We let that slide. Could’ve just been overlooked. We then waited to be served bread for starter which probably took 10-15 minutes to arrive by which time our mains were already being served. While we were eating, both pair of couples asked for their bill and each were given complimentary limoncello shots. When we asked for our bill after we finished our meal, we waited and waited but no free limoncello was offered. We were gutted with the obvious unfair treatment we had to think we eat here regularly. We love eating out and we always endorse good food and good service to our friends. Least to say we wont be coming back and will be hunting for a new Turkish restaurant who wont treat us with bias.

Making most of UK Gov 50% off meals in August we gave this another bash and again thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. As ever service was impeccable, the food amazing and the price even before the discount was very reasonable. Despite living 11 miles away and having to take a train into town it was well worth the cost and effort. Thanks to the team for another great Efes experience.

Just had a meal here for a 40th birthday. 17 of us, they let us decorate a section of the restaurant to our liking. Waiter was attentive all evening and nobody went short at all. The food was amazing, from the starters, to the complimentary bread, pickles and salad to the main meals. I don't think there was a plate with food left at the end. Everyone commented how flavoursome the food was. They decorated the cake and set the atmosphere with dimmed lights and turkish happy birthday music. A great evening and full value for money. Will definitely come back for more in the future.

We decided on Efes as we had been there before and remembered having had a lovely meal. This time around, they unfortunately didn't have the delicious Albanian liver hot starter, but we made do with sharing tasty hummus with hot bread. Our mains consisted of Ali Nazik and Mixed kebab, both were equally well prepared and delicious. There was a slight miscommunication in the order where i had thought i ordered the mixed shish, but the mixed kebab came out to the table (mixed kebab has more different kinds of grilled meats and is slightly more expensive) The chef came out and alongside the waitress apologised for any errors caused and were willing to re-do my order without any grumbling (to be fair i couldn't remember what i had actually said despite knowing what i actually meant to order). There was no tension, only cordial and embarrassed apologies from both parties. We were given a complimentary baklava dessert by the waitress which was a lovely gesture. Prices are higher than average but you do get what you pay for. The food we ordered was flavoursome and well presented. The decor consists of the usual traditional Turkish rugs, lamps, tourist site pictures thrown onto the walls along with the dulcet tones of Turkish pop singers warbling through the speakers. There is a curious "Did you know..?" history lesson board near the WC, i suppose to allow for contemplation of all things Turkish while one is otherwise engaged. Parking can be a bit of an issue as the restaurant is located on a narrow street. There is limited parking around the corner, but it's hit and miss with traffic wardens prowling around to snare the unwary. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to have a decent Turkish culinary experience.

This was a special menu with dishes created especially for the evening. In fact one was the return of an old favourite Albanian liver. Another starter was simply delicious and probably one of the most stunning starters Efes has ever produced Yoghurtlu Manti, mini dumplings filled with ground lamb meat in garlic yoghurt with melted butter, onion and Black pepper. Our senior waitress said at the beginning of the evening they were unlikely to be on the new menu. However possibly the thinking had changed by the end of the evening as she said they were the hits of the evening. Of the mains, only salmon and mixed grill were non-vegan, so we, along with most others ordered the mixed grill. It was gargantuan and truly excellent. So there were plenty doggy bags. Desserts included tiramisu which other half enjoyed but I opted for an old favourite, Baklava served with cream and ice cream. The package came with a glass of wine or beer but was truly very good value for £35 odd - oh and a rose for the lady. The service was as usual attentive, efficient and friendly. Incidentally we really liked how the large room had been made more like the original part of the restaurant with attractive bright lighting achieved with lots of low wattage LED lights in traditional Turkish lamps. The toilets have also had a makeover with unusual stunning tiles and a really modern look with fashionable style basins. We do hope those starters make the new menu though.

This was our first takeaway from Efes and it surpassed all of our expectations. The food was delicious and hot. Portion sizes were generous. The customer service was amazing. We had a call to check our food was all ok after the delivery driver had to make an emergency stop whilst delivering the food. The whole family devoured their choices. With two vegetarians and two meat eaters in the house, there was ample choice for everyone. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

Terrible takeaway. Ordered the mixed shish at £14 and the value for money was poor. Meat overcooked, chips had clearly been fried in old oil and were disgusting. 5 pieces of chicken and 5 pieces of overdone meat for £14....... absolute rip off. Their salad is just a box of lettuce with a couple of tiny bits of tomato.... extremely poor Could have got a kebab at half the price and much better taste and value. I don’t even write reviews, and after seeing so many good ones especially about portion size, I feel so strongly about writing this. Very poor value for money, first and last visit that’s for sure.

Dear customer We are very sorry for your bad experience with our takeaway. We pride ourselves on good value for money as our portions are generous and the majority of our customers agree with that. We serve our meals with bulgur and a salad as well which is included in the price . The price of the meals reflect the quality and quantity of a restaurant rather than a kebab shop. Kindest regards Efes Turkish Cuisine

We pre-booked a table for 4 at Efes, which was a good idea, as it is clearly a popular restaurant. We ordered hummus as a starter, and it came with plenty of bread, which we liked. After much deliberation, my partner ordered the Kuzu Tandir (30), but was told this and a few other dishes were unavailable. My partner was disappointed by this, and felt we could have been informed of this earlier. Instead, she ordered Lamb Guvec (33), with a rich tomato sauce, which she really enjoyed. I ordered the Adana Kebab (41), which I found filling and flavoursome. I ordered a side of vegetables with this, which really wasn't needed, as the accompanying table salad was plentiful. A small suggestion would be to include the salad on the menu as we were not expecting this.

As a family we are all “foodies” and had our first takeaway tonight from Efes and all I can say is WOW. The food has all the right flavours cooked to perfection and the marination was amazing. Lamb shish was the best I have eaten succulent and proper taste of charcoal, my kids had chicken shish with rice and it’s the first time they were desperate for more.. Needless to say from ordering, collecting to eating was perfect, by far the best Turkish restaurant I have eaten from. If you want to taste proper Turkish food especially kebabs this is a must visit. Thank you for such a beautiful food, we will be back.

This was yet another time when Efes delivered all that we wanted, expected and more. We have been 4 times now in the last 3 months and each time it gets better and better. There is no better food and value for a lunch in Worthing that I know of. Turkish meats, Bulgur wheat, salad, bread, dips and charred peppers for £8!?! The portions are vast. Service is clean and crisp, nothing is too much trouble and yet again the place was packed on a Monday lunch time in November! People need to try it - those who have clearly return time after time. Faultless experience for £15 a head including 2 drinks. We even realised that we had mis-ordered when the food arrived and was corrected without fuss, quibble or cost on our bill. Exceptional. Thanks and see you again soon, David

What a great surprise it was to discover this excellent, authentic Turkish restaurant in our favourite seaside town. From the moment we stepped in, we knew we were going to like it. Lovely cosy decor, soft background music, friendly welcoming staff - a perfect start. Once our food arrived, it only got better. You get complimentary bread, olives and dips to begin with, and also a huge bowl of fresh salad with your mains. We had three different lamb dishes: doner, incik (kleftico) and ali nazik (grilled shish with aubergine purée), and they were all absolutely delicious - cooked to perfection and full of flavour. We also went for three different desserts: kadayif, baklava and sobiyet, served with ice cream and fresh strawberries, and again they all were amazing. All the dishes were beautifully presented and served with a smile. The portions were very generous and reasonably priced, making the meal good value for money. First cup of Turkish tea is on the house. The only downside is that parking might be a bit tricky in the area; we saw other guests parking right at the front on a double yellow line, but we weren’t that brave and had to park a bit further away. Overall, we absolutely loved our visit and would happily return for another meal. Highly recommended!

Wow! What an experience! Two wonderful waitresses that couldn't do enough. A delicious complimentary starter and two main meal lamb dishes, the meat so tender and tasty. Try as we did to finish there was just too much so we're going to have another delicious lamb meal tonight from our "doggy bag"! There was another complimentary drink before we left and I was packed off with a few extra Turkish Delight! A Turkish Delight this place certainly is!
