About
When we first started talking about the ami concept, the questions we kept asking ourselves were "what would we want to eat?" And "what sort of restaurant would we like to eat in?" From the small acorn of an idea ami bistro became a reality and opened its doors in June 2014. We are an independent, local family run business offering an alternative to the standardised fare of the large chains. Our independence allows us the luxury of being very flexible with our menu, constantly evolving our menu options as the seasons and tastes change. From the very beginning the ambition was to serve customers with the best quality lunches and first class dinners. We are particularly passionate about fresh,

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really loved this neighbourhood restaurant and can’t wait to return. The menu has great options for sharing plates - all of which were delicious. The desserts were amazing and worth saving space for. The staff were attentive and friendly and our table was well located...being not too close to any others.More

I cannot praise the restaurant and the team enough! We were celebrating my Dad’s 70th birthday, and 3 of us arrived early, 2 of us arrived half an hour late 🙄 the staff were patient, attentive, we got set up with nibbles and drinks while...we waited for them!! 🤪 Anyone who served us was charming, our starters arrived (they wanted to make sure we weren’t disappointed and to maybe order ASAP as a larger table had pre-ordered, and warned us there might be a wait for our food if we held off!) we had the Brie, the ham hock (highly recommend!) and the calamari - then for mains we had the sea bream, pork belly, chicken supreme and 2 lamb (ALSO really recommend!!) If I asked for their opinion on which dish out of 2, the staff were right every time! 👌🏼 A perfect spot for a special occasion or a fine dining meal out in a hidden gem of a spot - thank you, you made our evening really memorable and easy - thank you so, so much!More

We had a very good meal for four and all enjoyed every choice from the menu and some nice wines. The experience was spoiled by the waiter being less than honest when challenged about a Prosecco order. The menu shows a 200ml bottle of Prosecco...for £10. The waiter brought a single 125 ml glass of Prosecco. When asked for the 200ml bottle ordered he claimed to have poured out the Prosecco from the 200ml bottle over at the bar. Clearly not possible as 200ml gives you at least 1 and a half glasses making it worth £10. Really disappointing that he was not honest with us and that he still charged us £10 when he knew we had spotted what he had done. Shame.More

Be sure not to mistake Ami Bistro’s single page of starters as being the lunchtime alternative to their a-la-carte. For, out of the most forbearing respect for the customer’s prerogative, the management will not so much as hint that sir and madam may have forgotten...to order main courses. You, on the other hand, could find yourself leaving both pleased yet vaguely less sated than you would have wished, never to know how the pleasure you’d had from your choice of the chef’s delectable offerings was pretty well guaranteed to continue. This was possibly the case last Friday with a couple at an adjacent table, as the manager surmised when we wondered why our main course orders had not yet been taken. The thing is, it’s as much the chef’s well-deserved pleasure at pleasing you as yours in being so pleased. Parking's a pain, but don't let that put you off . . .More

We have not visited this divine restaurant for a while due to circumstances. We were delighted to find the same impeccably high standards of service, food quality and imaginative menu as before. The food is so delicious that I didn’t want to finish my meal....The king prawns in red pepper dhal is total joy. The decor is warm, comfortable and very tasteful. Ami is such a precious gem of Worthing.More

Evening meal with friends on a weekend evening and we found this venue was busy with a friendly vibe about the place. Warm greetings and immediate service re drinks etc.. Good variety of menu and plenty of options which is why it took us a...while to choose. We all shared the calamari starters with bread/balsamic and it certainly whet our appetite for the main course Lamb rump, chicken supreme and Garlic prawns with pasta were our choices and every one was a winner. Tasty plates of food, generous portions and attentive service without being intrusive. Only 2 of our group had puddings and both the Millionaires chocolate and treacle tart were delightful. Point for us to remember in future, the chocolate was so rich, it would have done for 2 to share. Slight issue with one of the glasses of wine which didn't taste quite right, but there were immediate apologies and a replacement provided with no fuss at all. Plenty of positive reviews for this venue, and we can see why. Not cheap, but the overall quality makes it a place to revisit for us.More

My wife, myself, our son and daughter in law came to Ami Bistro last night to celebrate my sons birthday, and from the minute we arrived, we were given a warm and courteous welcome from Ryan the manager and shown to a lovely table with...plenty of room, as I am in a wheelchair and appreciate extra space, whenever possible. My son and daughter in law had eaten there many times before and recommended it to us, so we were looking forward to it. We weren't disappointed at all.....Ryan was polite, friendly, and helpful throughout, and the food ( Starters and Main Courses ) was superb. We had Ham Hock, Mussels, Calamari, and Brie in Breadcrumbs...Mains we had Lamb Rump, 2 x Sea Bream and Chicken Supreme....all beautifully prepared and really lovely. Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant and a gem of a place in Worthing. Ryan mentioned that the Chef's were preparing for the Winter Menus, so we look forward to going back very soon to try them out.More

We have been to ami bistro a few times and always loved it. This time we went with our parents who hadn’t visited before and it was so great to go with them! Dad said “that’s the best meal I’ve had in at least a...couple of years!” and if I hadn’t been to ami already in that time, I’d have said the same! Ryan was so attentive and friendly without being intrusive, the service was wonderful as usual and the food was absolutely delicious and presented beautifully. I am pregnant and when I asked a question about deserts I could have, he had already been to the kitchen and asked if there would be any issues, so he had the answers ready. We are always so impressed with the standard here and tonight was just as great. Thanks so much and we can’t wait to come back again! A lovely birthday evening out!More
