Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Was shocked at the price today . Myself and my grandmother took a trip for lunch and after reading through the menu was very shocked and disappointed. Sandwiches/ panini's around £12 yes may come with a few chips or small soup but still seem exorbitant...and did not really fancy the soup or chips . Most places do small side salad with it for around £7/£8 which seems much more reasonable Fillings not particularly exciting or generous. Staff fairly friendly but not that personal touch. Don't think we will return again at those prices which is a shame as decor pretty but cafe definitely doesn't fulfill potential . Also background music was very depressing.More

Dear customer, sorry to hear the Palm Court was not the place for you and your mum. We take all customer comments but I, as owner was quite shocked with your review, which is very misleading and damaging for any potential customers. So for you...More

The food was delicious. It was very tasty and well presented. There was a very friendly and warm atmosphere in the restaurant. We were served by Sarah and she looked after us very well.

Lovely setting and good friendly service. Thank you Sarah, we had afternoon tea, (at our request at 1pm). Very nice sandwiches, scones and cakes, more that we could eat. Very pleasant surroundings, inside, Outside there were plenty of seats in the sun if you wanted,...the marquee wasn't being used but look welcoming with some tropical Plants.More

We had another entertaining tapas evening with a live band. They had put such effort in giving the marquee a Spanish feel which felt authentic. Great selection of high quality food and this time you had the choice of helping yourself buffet style or if...you preferred you could be served your choice at the table. The staff as always were attentive but not intrusive and we all enjoyed the evening very much and look forward to more dates being released for next year. We would definitely recommend this local restaurant, so please do pop in for a meal or if you prefer just a coffee or a drink. You will always be made welcome. Well done shamus and Rachel. Fab eveningMore

We had a voucher that stated it was for a deluxe afternoon tea for one. We phoned the restaurant four times and there was no answer, so we made our way to the restaurant. When we arrived at 12, we saw on the sign outside...that they served afternoon tea after 2 o’clock in the afternoon. We are a family of five with three small children, so we gave them a small snack and resolved to come back later. When we came back we were told that we couldn’t sit down at the many empty tables because we have a book ahead. Also, even though we were going to buy an additional cream tea we could not use a voucher and share it with our three very small children, if they wanted to have a cream tea they would have to buy one each. it was a sham. We were made to wait in the middle of the restaurant with no apology and a slight insinuation that we had written the voucher ourselves! The server took the voucher and wrote in pencil booking required as it was not already on the voucher. I gave them proof that I had phoned four times with no answer, but still, they were not willing to let myself and my young family sit down and fulfil the terms of the voucher that we had. The children were all really sad and didn’t understand why the lady had been rude to us and told us we couldn’t eat there. We didn’t have any words to explain either.More

We started with a glass of Prosseco each and then enjoyed the very tasty homemade quiche and mini sausage rolls, the sandwiches were followed by scones with copious amounts of jam and cream. These were followed by a mouth watering selection of cakes which were...washed down with a generous pot of tea for us both.More
