About
Nestled in Worthing’s stunning Beach House Park, Palm Court Pavilion is a stylish, beautifully renovated café-bistro in the park’s Old Pavilion. Located just minutes from the town centre and the seafront, we serve delicious homemade food and offer a range of options for functions and events. The café marks an exciting new chapter in the Pavilion’s history. After some years in disuse, the old Pavilion building has been given a brand new lease of life with a sympathetic renovation emphasising natural light inside, while taking advantage of the lovely open-air spaces of the surrounding park outside. Large open-air decking areas have been created so that you can enjoy the beautiful, peaceful setting. The outside spaces are also available for hire for private parties and functions. Over winter we have a festive themed outdoor heated marquee.

I visited the PCP with my partner and my mum, who are both gannets. Two of us had the nut roast and the other the beef roast. They came with a colourful selection of veggies but we also ordered cauliflower cheese sides. For dessert we had the apple pie which was, for me, one of the best I have ever had (so good we ordered some to take home). We all went home pleasantly stuffed - and for a very reasonable price. Nice place, great food with happy, charming staff. Would definitely recommend.

Had the most amazing sunday lunch here, they have put a gazebo in the garden which was lovely and warm and gave a great atmosphere. The food was ample, hot and extremely tasty. I have also frequented here during the week for lunch and afternoon tea and it is always top notch. love this secret gem in amongst lovely grounds.

Having visited several times previously for lunches, my husband and I chose Palm Court to host an afternoon tea for our family and friends following our local wedding ceremony. Being a small group of 30, the upstairs room was ideally sized and suited our needs perfectly. With windows and balconies overlooking both sides of the park, it gives wonderful views and the large and exotic plants add to the feel of the room. The tables were beautifully laid for tea with crisp white tablecloths, china plates & tea cups and tiered cake stands full of the most scrumptious sandwiches, scones, and cakes. A couple of our party had particular dietary needs and these were very well catered for, to their delight, with much thought and care. Rachel & Seamus were a great help, both before the day and during it, giving us helpful suggestions and confidence our day would go to plan. On the day itself, we were very well looked after by them both and all the staff, despite them also setting up for the annual ‘Jack on the Green’ lantern show in the park that night. Our two waitresses, Bryony & (I think) Bethany (apologies if I’ve remembered incorrectly) were stars - meeting everyone’s needs with drinks orders etc. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our afternoon tea was absolutely delicious and all our family & friends agreed it was a perfect afternoon. A huge thank you to you all for making our day so memorable and enjoyable.

I have reviewed this restaurant before, regrettably it has gone downhill since then. We ordered the full breakfast for my wife and eggs Benedict for myself. After 40 minutes no sign of it so I went to investigate. A server informed me that they had so many orders and as she wasn’t a chef, she had no idea when the meals would arrive. I asked her if she could find out. She didn’t return but turned up 10 minutes later with the food. Unacceptable, they are clearly accepting too many orders with insufficient chefs/ kitchen resources. If only they would inform diners of the waiting time so that they could then make an informed choice.

Thank you for taking time to feedback and firstly accept my sincere apologies for your visit not being up to our usual high standards. Our heated marquee is the only allocated area at present where we are serving meals. We were thankfully fully booked on Monday’s bank holiday. Due to reduced capacity and socially distanced tables our booking system is crucial to allow relaxed, spaced out dining and optimum capacity as we are running at only 25% of our normal levels, which due to covid-19 restrictions is currently all outside. Unfortunately yesterday we had several table's either running late or waiting for some of the party to arrive which did cause a surge of order's and a delay in your breakfast again for which i apologise. I assume when you're breakfast arrived the quality was good and I hope this isolated incident will not deter you from returning as we quickly adjust to changing requirements and endeavour to deliver high standards of service and food to our clientele.

I try and praise positively wherever I go but I certainly cannot be positive about my experience at Palm court. We booked in advance, pre ordered and prepaid for the food in advance. However, when we arrived we had to wait a long time for our food being told that just because you book at 7:30 doesn't mean you'll eat then. You didn't tell us you wanted your food, which we did on multiple occasions. Waited 40 minutes for the drinks bill. There was no music and no cheerful waiting staff. I complained but the manager was condescending, so I sent an email to him, no reply, I sent one to the restaurant, no reply. I used to go for meals there but won't be going again and I won't be recommending it to anyone. They need to appreciate they are in the hospitality business. Politeness and enthusiasm are free!

Hi, firstly i have reported/flagged this review to Tripadvisor. We have previously spoken to and had various communications with the organiser. As we refused to give a refund you have continued to try and damage our reputation. The event was back in July on the 17th. It was a hen party arranged for an evening booked from 7.30pm. Several members of the group did not arrive until 7.45, then a drinks order was taken ( including cocktails) these were served close to 8pm, then we were informed several members of the group had a train to catch and had to leave at 8.45 so you requested everyone needed their meal straight away. Even a call the day before with the organiser to check numbers and any dietary requirements by the general manager the fairly strict timings was not discussed then or previously. To expect drinks and a meal to be served within 45-60 minutes without pre informing us with a very busy restaurant was just not possible. It was an Al Fresco BBQ evening when the chef individually BBQs each tables order. When the organiser called and demanded a refund, this for the above reasons was refused and then the threat of damaging reviews was made and carried out, and still being carried out 2 months later.

If you are looking for a tasty lunch, really good cup of tea or coffee or a delicious cake I’d definitely recommend a visit to Palm Court Pavilion. It’s easy to park, the staff are so lovely, the food is excellent and then on a sunny Autumn day you can sit on a bench in the park area. I had a nice earl grey and a tuna melt panini and I’ll be visiting next week to try something else. Keep up the good work, you put a smile on my face in these scary times and me feel not so lonely. Thank you 🙏

I have never experienced such unprofessionalism - I enquired about afternoon tea (initially by email). Having rung them to book, I said I wanted to book for adults and 3 kids (plus dogs), I advised that it was unlikely that a 3 year old would want to have it. I was told to pre-order any other choices; in emailing them a few days before with these choices, they told me only the Sunday menu was available. They then went on to argue with me about who said what! So unprofessional. At this point, I politely corrected them and advised it didn't seem right to argue however at this late stage I will still keep the booking. Despite having paid a deposit, I receive an email late yesterday afternoon telling me they 'cannot honour my booking'! Appalling - and a shame given the only time I have been there before they were very good. Going by recent reviews, it's now one to avoid.

We had the deluxe afternoon tea and I can confirm we were not disappointed. The food was freshly made, very tasty and great value for money. The coronation chicken was the best I’ve ever tasted and the brownies just melt in the mouth. Our waitress Holly was friendly, polite and attentive. She explained exactly what food was served and made us feel very well looked after. Would definitely recommend.

My friend and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea. I’m a vegetarian which they catered for completely and my friend isn’t so we each had our own individual teas laid out. They also do a vegan or gluten-free tea option so that’s very impressive and I thought it was very good value. We were served by Holly and also by Aggie who both provided excellent service. It was a lovely relaxed environment and as it had been a thunderstorm earlier we were under their large marquee but there is also a lovely terrace for when the weather is better.

We had a wonderful few hours at the palm court pavilion for a deluxe afternoon tea. My mum and her two friends are over 85 and I was able to drop off flowers, balloon and a cake. The table was laid up with lovely china and we started with a glass of prosecco. The staff were really attentive and friendly as this was the ladies second outing since restrictions have lifted. The afternoon was amazing, a great selection of savories and sandwiches. The quiche and sausage rolls were really tasty. We all had a scone, cream, jam and more cakes, lemon drizzle, Victoria sponge, mini chocolate mouse and a chocolate brownie. The tea pot was constantly filled and the staff could not have done enough for us. Well done Palm Court Pavilion a wonderful afternoon and memory for my mum and friends.

I have had lunch here and met friends for coffee, it is a lovely peaceful venue in a pretty park away from the business of the town. There is plenty of parking. I found a good selection on the menu for all tastes and dietry needs at lunchtime and afternoon tea looks amazing. Coffee the best Ive tasted in town. I would give it 4 and a half if I could and the half point is because it is a tad expensive but you get what you pay for and you wont be disappointed.

I have just been to the Palm Court Pavillion and I must say in these strange times it is one of the safest eating places I have been through this pandemic. You can eat inside or if you are with friends there is a marquee outside which is heated......👍 one of a few . The tables are all spaced out and there is enough room to walk round safely. The toilets are spotless and are the only ones I have seen that supply cleaning equipment. The staff are all very attentive and polite. Today I was severed by Bryony and last week I was served by Amber. They are lovely girls as are all the staff. The food is fantastic and you certainly get your money's worth. I would recommend Palm Cout to everyone and I will be back in the new year.

Found this place on a trip to the hospital. We decided to go in for a drink, the staff were really friendly and we were sat in the marquee. We had lemon drizzle cake, a latte and cheesy chips which were all hot and served quite quickly. We will definitely go back.

After walking the dog in a beautiful park located minutes from the beach, my (now) wife and I came across this beautiful venue. Once we found out they did wedding ceremonies we booked without hesitation. One of the BEST decisions we have ever made. Seamus and Rachel were amazing! They made the planning so easy. Suggesting the wine, menu and canopies, liaising with our DJ and cake baker etc... ment we could enjoy the build up instead of stressing over the small details. That being said, if we had specific requests they would have been accommodating too. My (now) wife and I are vegan and this was no trouble at all. The venue did us the most delious BBQ/buffet on the day and accommodated for any other allergies our guests had. We had some many complements on the food and rightly so. Thanks to the team at Palm Court the day itself couldn't have gone smoother. Nothing was too much trouble for our guests and everyone was so happy and professional. Even after buying the bar staff a shot of tequila each in the evening, they kept their professionalism. Every aspect of the venue was perfect, from the stunning ceremony room, to the terrace for drinks and then the marquee itself, followed by the evening party. To sum up, if you are looking for a wedding venue in sunny Worthing then your search is over! Mike &Lizzie

Set in tranquil garden surroundings this place is a real gem. The menu offers something for everyone with great vegetarian and vegan options. The staff are friendly and helpful and are managing social distancing very well. The outdoor eating area is perfect for a sunny day and there is a lovely atmosphere throughout the cafe.
