Nice food, poor bar management.

Nice enough food, but limited on wine selection.... we only have the Malbec available at £25, take it or leave it. The Dosa Hut was always great because of it's attention to the small details and excellent service. This was not my experience on this visit. Not as enjoyable as previous visits.

Let's start from the prologue: I tend to avoid Indian restaurants as it always taste the same. No matter where you are. They all seems to serve the same repetitive, "classic"(adapted I would say), boring menu. I was introduced to this establishment about 6 or 7 years ago. I was very pleasantly surprised. Since then I had a couple of TA over the past few years but, for several reasons, we never opted to go with the family. until last night. As we walked in the place was heaving. All/most customers were Asian (and that s a good sign) . We sat and looked at the menu. Far too many dishes to choose from, and most of them never seen in any classic high street tandoori. 3 of us had a selection of starter (6 to be precise) that we shared. The waiter / manager helped us with the choice and recommendations. Plenty of vegetarian options available too. As main we choose 2 dosa and a chicken dish. All very good especially the lamb dosa. We were full but still managed to get space for a pudding. Overall a great experience. The restaurant is very busy, several tables were turned around throughout the evening, lots of take away and deliveries but this didn't stop them providing great food and attentive service. Hope to be back soon.

We were very impressed with the service and food, phoned in an order and it was all ready for us to collect at the time requested. The food was really good and we would recommend it highly. We have two teenagers who enjoy wraps and gave the naan rolls a thumbs up. Will definitely visit again !

Is a rip-off!!!!!!!

I ordered by takeaway for my mothers birthday. The starters which are more expensive that the mains were by no means value for money I paid £9.50 for tandoori prawns expecting about 10 for that price and open the box to find 3 little prawns pathetic!!! The wings were average still only six in a box. The mains were decent but the naans were very dry and definitely not fresh. Phoned them up to enquire portion sizes and the woman hung up and did not take it seriously at all! Definitely would not recommend for takeaway.

Good food, bad service, requires improvement and refinement.

The restaurant is small and spacing is tight. It was extremely busy with a constant stream of people coming in to collect take-away orders. We were given a table situated next to the bar and till area, so were right in the path of the thoroughfare and had to endure people standing over us whilst we were eating. There is a seating area upstairs which is accessed by walking past the bar area, so we also had that thoroughfare to deal with. After being seated at our table it took around 20 minutes before anyone came to take our order for drinks. We were still looking at the menu (which is vast) when our drinks arrived another 20 minutes later. We ordered our food but again it was around half an hour before we received our starter. People who come in after us were served and had there meals before we did, at times we felt invisible. Staff were not very welcoming or attentive, there was nothing personal about the service received. The front door opens straight into the restaurant so due to the constant thoroughfare, we had to sit eating with our coats on because it was so cold. Very disappointing, we will not be returning any time soon.

Average food. Increased prices

Went three weeks ago with group of friends and enjoyed the food with reasonable prices on menu. Went there again last week and noticed that they had different menus with prices inflated. They are participating in the eat out to help out so don’t know if this is the reason. Food was also very average on this occasion.

We went in today for a family meal. A table was booked for 5 well in advance however they sat us on a table of 4. The waiter was rude and said others are booked . This made no sense as we had called in advance !!! So we were rather squashed . Not enough cutlery as the table was set out for 4 people so we have to ask for more napkins and cutlery. The food took over 40 minutes to come which is unacceptable. It wasn’t even that busy . The food wasn’t as nice as usual maybe a different chef was preparing it . The waiters tend not to smile or ask if everything is ok with the food. Service is Key in any industry and perhaps brushing up your customer service skills is a must. The manager was quite rude and abrupt as well. I go here often with family and friends but not anymore . The service is appalling and the food this time was not nice . There is no need for any type of rudeness!

Very tasty selection

Meeting with friends and then joined by another unexpected friend who they still catered for. Service from male server bit slow. Girls were quicker and more attentive. I had a cauliflower starter that was delicious and one that others tasted and enjoyed. Lots of flavours and textures. Full of taste without being overly spicy or hot. I hadn't tried them before but the food was impressive. I will certainly try these again.

We booked a table for 8.30pm, arrived on time but as usual they delayed arranging a table. It was so suffocating when walked in, the windows were foggy, not sure how they rate on heath and safety!!! We had to ask them few times to open the windows before they did. Order was taken, we had to ask them for cutlery and tissues. It was awful the chutneys comes with Dosa, Idly, Vada, not sure if this is due to cost of living crisis but their menu is quiet expensive anyway when you compare with other south Indian menus. Asked for more chutney, it took long time but again the same quantity, so we started adjusting. The staff were rude when we ask for anything. Then noticed someone else was given 8 seater table for 10 people, the staff said they booked for only 8! Another group of 10 guest came, they were given the same 8 seater table and they were told the same thing again. They were not attended by the staff for a bit long time, they were running out of patience.............. I wouldn't go there again, though it was my 4th time and didn't have any issues previously.

The Dosa Experience

This was my second visit, the first time was an evening booking for my birthday and that was just perfect as it was, this time was 10 August at 1 pm - who would have thought that this little restaurant could be so busy during the daytime. It was following all the protocols during this difficult time. Well-spaced out, temp is taken on entering, shown to our seat immediately, then ordered our starter. The staff were busy but always pleasant and on the ball. Our food was superb once again, choosing the Mysore masala Dosa [potato & Beetroot/cheese], portions are very generous and flavorsome and I cannot compliment The Dosa Hut enough. If you are looking for a taste of India please head out to this place, it looks small from the outside but it is an amazing place to eat authentic Indian Cuisine, and you will not be left wanting more. You must book though as it really is very busy.

What a service in less than 15 minutes of my order I receive my food . Hot and delicious 😋 Asked a server to add top up but server was busy took bit time but Taran took over and did asked how’s the food and need anything and sorted me . I been eating dosa hut food from 2 years no complaints about food . But today I’m impressed about there quick service too I just had a idli sambar amazing We always forget to thank one person who is chef I don’t know ur name chef but thanks millions for feeding us a great food . An thanks Taran bar and Restraunt staff and team God bless and good luck Virinder desor

Our first visit to the Dosa Hut

We were advised to book a table as I had eard this restaurant was so popular, and needless to say this was very true. We only had to wait 5 minutes before we were sitting down and peering through an extensive menu. The waiters were very friendly and helpful in explaining the different items on the menu. The meal arrived very quickly and we all tucked into our various choices of food. I chose an actual Dosa which was protruding over the plate. It was delicious. The restaurant was absolutely full which I consider is an excellent sign. I cannot wait to make a return visit.

Has to be one of the best in Town

Dosa hut was the perfect find. I’ve not had a dosa for a long time and family members with me wanted a regular Indian but vegetable meal. I was really impressed with the quality of food and service. I asked the waitress to recommend a dosa and she suggested the Rava Masala Dos/RAva onion dosa - and she was right! It had a nice kick to it and tasted great. Dosa Hut it’s probably my favourite Indian restaurant in Wolverhampton now (but I will continue exploring) 😊

Fabulous south Indian cuisine - a hidden gem!

Having been stuck at home, and not travelling on business this year, I was really missing some authentic Indian cuisine, and was desperate for a decent dosa. I found it at Dosa Hut. The food was absolutely beautiful. I had a Chicken Dosa and Medu Vada, and it was as good as I have eaten in Mumbai before. My wife and daughter also loved the food, which is a real compliment! Will definitely visit again.

Bad , you could be bere for hours

I came here at 6:30 and had pre-orderd so I expected that when I came that the starters would come in 20mins but I was wrong and it took me an hour I had received the food.That was only the starters,I had to wait another 1 hour to receive my mains. At this point no cutlery was received and I asked for more but this lady had ignored me. When I asked for more food I would take 30min to come. Even warter took a long time I felt like going to the kitchen and taking it myself.DON’T come her it’s a waist of time and frustration. the lady who had took her time,impolite and didn’t grant my wishes of cutlery and food.
