The home-made meals are delicious and at good prices. The service is brilliant, the staff are extremely helpful and very pleasant. Can't wait to have lunch in the garden when the warm weather arrives! Make sure you try the home-made bread!

The typical 'english pub' Very welcoming. I understand the beers are a splendid selection. Food is great pub grub. Nothing fancy, honestly and enthusiastically cooked.

We went to the Red Lion to celebrate a family birthday and the table was booked for early evening. The menu was reasonably extensive with a choice of pub classics, various home made pies (with puff or shortcrust pastry) and a couple of specials, as well as a childrens menu. We had something from most of these options including the... More

A thatched country pub of character inside and out. There is a wide choice of food ( but not too wide!), and the dishes that one orders are well presented in a traditional way and of good quality. Staff are pleasant and helpful. The overall experience is most enjoyable; this pub is definitely worth a detour for anyone in the... More

Super pub cosy with good food, great service and lovely friendly atmosphere. Popped in with a friend for quick bite to eat and a catch up. Cracking menu and we both went for a burger. Were very helpful as my friend was dairy, apparently so were their chips and onion rings!! Could only eat 3/4 of my burger (shame on me)... More

Took a trip out to this pub and we chose the fish and chips and burger. The fish was lovely - great batter and you could tell the burger was fresh and with lots of flavour. They had various local ales on tap. The ambience is nice with a fire and jazz music in the background. We will be back... More

All I can say is lovely staff, very friendly, great food especially the homemade ice creams. Landlord Mark very friendly and welcoming and the regulars were great fun to talk to as well.

Whilst staying in the village on a course at Mount Vernon the home of Dr Edward Bach I enjoyed several meals at the Red Lion. This is a great place full of character, charm and a warm welcome. The food is fantastic, with many delicious choices and I was especially pleased that there was a good variety of vegetarian dishes... More

An extremely dissaponting Sunday lunch. The price quoted on the web site incorrect! Having waited 45 minutes for service the meal was poor. The roast potatoes were burnt, the gravy like water, some of the vegetables past their best. I took my family for a treat and the restaurant was over stretched. I felt sorry for the serving staff who... More

We visited on a Saturday lunchtime. The overwhelming smell of old oil was in the air. The food was average, the service was very poor although it did not seem that busy. We sat at the table by the doorway and the windowsill was covered in crumbs and dead flies. Food was 'ok' - burger and ham and chips. Basic... More
