I used to come here as a kid. It's pretty rough round the edges and doesn't seem much different to how it was 20 odd years ago - still the odd American flag around and booth seating.
Staff are friendly enough. Large variety of food, as you'd expect in this type of place.
Generous portions, the food isn't going to win any awards but was acceptable, perhaps a little expensive as some of the ingredients used are towards the lower end of the scale.

to much oil for my taste but that's how I prefer it and the chips were soggy and the burger wat to fatty but if that's how you like it then that is fine this is just how i prefer it

Have eaten here in the past but this was the first delivery to home.
Food is never a let down decent portions for what you spend. More for your money than domino's for example. Well timed delivery (has to be a min £15 spend) but ex large mixed kebab with big bottle of coke, fries, salad and a mix of dips I think good value. Will definitely order from again.

You have to like these guys - they love to feed, always friendly and the portions are epic. Food made fresh - worth waiting a few minutes longer for. Currently takeaway only but they are handling the Covid situation most professionally. From the ribs to the chicken kebab, all great

These guys are feeders… good sized portions! My boys like the burgers, ribs, big milkshakes and fries. Kebabs are decent too. Huge menu choice and all seems to be cooked fresh to order. Very good value and friendly people.

Was surprised to see bad reviews of this place.
We have used Maximum Diner for years, since we moved to Uckfield from London (where we got lots of experience of kebab shops).
In that time that we’ve used them we have never had a bad meal, unlike other local take aways and including the Dominos which put us off Dominos pizza for good!
Kebabs are always tasty, not dry. Salad is always fresh. Chips are always lovely.
Plus this place does good pizzas, burgers and hash.
Not known a kebab shop to do this much variety and all of it nice.
If you want tasty fast food. I can’t think of anywhere nearby that does it better.

Recently ordered from here as we was local and was recommended by someone. I must admit i would never order from here again was well over priced and charged an absolute ridiculous delivery fee. Food was so bad we chucked it in the bin

My husband recommended this place going by how it USED to be making 'really good burgers'. This is no longer the case!
He and his dad had a burger, my mother in law had the hash and I had a shish kebab. Plated up, the kebab looked the best but it was all of poor standard. The hash looked like dog sick, the burgers were cheap and dry and the chips tasted stale.
Theres nothing more dissapointing than when youre hungry and have wasted money on a bad dinner 😤
Of all the places to get a takeaway from in Uckfield - dont choose this one!

I decided to get takeaway from here after not eating here for years and it was a let down. The veggie burger was terrible and came with one piece of lettuce and not much mayonnaise. I would still however like to try the other meals on offer here, but would not order the veggie burger again.

After them not accepting our card payment over the phone because we live in a flat, we told them we would pay cash on delivery 7 people heard this conversation on my end! 45 mins later we still had not received our order so I rang them and they said that they did not place our order because they said we would come and pay cash, which isn't true!!! When they finally delivered our order one and a half hours after the initial phone call I complained to the driver and he made out it was all our fault and that we did not phone back to say we would pay cash on delivery when on the initial phone call we told them we would pay cash, the delivery driver was very rude and very aggressive threatening to take our food back when I asked for a £5 discount due to their mistake, continued to argue, I have never had such a bad service, not only that the burgers were dry had clearly been sitting around for a while, all in all a terrible service and i won't be ordering again!!!

Visited several times after an evening out - excellent food and very friendly staff.
Also used their delivery service a few times and it's always prompt.

We often take our vistors for Breakfast to Maxim Diner, as the quantity and quality of the Breakfast is second to none. If we are feeling lazy we would pop into Maxim, for an evening meal, and once again the menu and quality are excellent. I often have a glass of wine to accompany the meal. The owner and his family are loverly warm people, who make you feel welcome. This is not the Ritz, its more, it serves quality food and a warm atmosphere, don`t expect candles and tableclothes, just expect good food and a warm welcome.
