Jenny's birthday so took her to Fowey. On way home felt a bit peckish and as we trundled through Tav I (cunningly) found TJ's. Out popped Jen with some loose change and returned with a large portion of chips to share. Tells me service was very polite and efficient The potato chips Golden Brown Fluffy potato inside Well cut 25... More
The best FishinChip shop ever. Small and friendly with personable staff it provides the best fish & chips I've ever had the pleasue to eat; the fat they use must be very special and its fried to perfection
We moved to Tavistock 4 months ago and we have not tried any other chippy as there is nothing to fault with this one. The first time we visited we chose the large chips and regular cod, not realising large really did mean large chips. We now get regular fish and chips every Friday. We have tried the pies and... More
Very generous portions, good specials and kids meals, friendly staff, quick service and price. The fish was very good , batter was perfect no oil inside the batter and the fish/batter was not soggy. I will definitely visit again, especially to eat in.
Stopped here for some sausage and chips. Tasty sausage, but soggy batter. Chips were ok, but nothing special. Great to have it wrapped in newspaper, and not in a box. Extremely friendly guy that was serving and cooking.

Staff were friendly, but thought that playing top trumps whilst serving lacked a little professionalism. Tasty meal but a little... More

The freshly cooked fish turned out to be absolutely HUGE but very nice, while the batter was extremely light although rather... More
On regular visit to Tavistock went for lunch at tj and lj fish and chips had cod and chips an mushy peas cod was cooked to perfection chips were very good service was beyond reproach shall certainly visit again
Quite like this chip shop but when we called in today for a latish snack lunch we were shocked at how much the eat in meal was compared to the takeaway. I wouldn't want to put anyone off but just check out the cost of the alternatives.
