Location and contact

The Lord Nelson is a beautiful pub tucked away in the heart of Oakham. As just one of two towns in Rutland, Oakham itself is packed with character. The Lord Nelson fits in perfectly – dating back to the 1500’s the building has been lovingly restored the KNEAD Pubs way. With charming dining areas throughout the building, you’ll be able to find a cosy spot next to the Aga or enjoy a breath of fresh air in the secluded pub garden. The Lord Nelson is bursting with character, but its relaxed atmosphere makes it the perfect spot for a bite to eat and a chilled out pint. A centrepiece of the Lord Nelson is the delicious food, fantastic selection of ales and range of wines and other beverages. Here

Had dinner here last night. Queues at the bar were a tad long, but other than that I cannot fault the place. I had the Indian Burger, which I wholly reccomend.

Had a great family meal. We loved the curried pie and the falafels and the kids loved their meals which could easily have fed an adult. Nice beer / wine too. Would love to return.

There is a downstairs toilet for disabled folk and a baby changer. I have a walker and found plenty of room to get in and out.
