Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A fantastic pub with beautifully fresh food, amazing staff and a wonderful atmosphere. Would go back time and time again and highly recommend it. I ordered one of the specials and it was delicious, the pasta was homemade onsite and cooked perfectly! My friend got...the sausage and mash and loved it.More

Rob and the Team were very good on our visit, warm welcoming and provided a good service! Food was very nice on NYE, just wish the portion sizes would have been slightly larger. But overall can’t complain as we all had a fantastic night.

We’ve been here before and delighted that it was still open. The food is excellent, the staff and service too. We’ve eaten in here 3 nights now and I would say the burger was the best I’ve had ever. My wife had the chicken breast...and we both had roast on Sunday - delightful.More

Amazing evening spent here, best pub I’ve been to in a long time. Great food, wine and service; coupled with a relaxed environment. Couldn’t of asked for more, can’t wait to revisit

The experience was okay but why oh why do establishments bother with websites if they don’t keep them up dated??? We booked lunch having checked the Sunday menu on the website. Unfortunately the menu on the Sunday we arrived bore no resemblance to the published...menu??? Too late to go elsewhere, so we made the best of it……We have eaten here a few times, with varying results through various ownerships/managers……Probably give it a miss in future.More

Friendly welcome on arriving. Blazing log fire to add to amazing ambiance. Swift but not obtrusive service. Starter of local scallops were exceptional. Main of local plaice cooked to perfection. All in an amazing ambiance that calls for return visits.

It warm and friendly.. but sadly the quality of the food has rapidly declined having visited many times over the last few months. Small overpriced portions, all the seafood served nearly cold, the "meat" looked like flakes from the bottom of the saucepan slushing around...in gravy so mostly mash and carrots on the plate. Wine is inflated prices and not at correct temperature. However, service was good, pub was nice and warm: so its a shame the food quality has now deterred us from returning to eat. (Probably a nice place to stop-off for a drink on your way to Isle of Wight ferry)More

Had a nice lunch but was so so noisy. Roast potatoes a bit overdone. Another slice of meat would have made the dinner perfect.

Yummy delicious food. Excellent service. Reasonably priced food and drink. We visited twice. Easy 10 minute walk from Lyminton and good parking if you're driving. Would come again.
